Mukhammad Aziz Umurzokov, a freshman at Brown, had a condition as a child that required brain surgery. The experience created an unshakable ambition to become a brain surgeon, his sister said.

He died after being shot on campus on Saturday.

waiting for my TV show based on Leia: Princess of Alderan by Claudia Gray where Leia and Amylin Holdo become besties while doing mountain climbing and light rebellion work, would watch 15 seasons
On the anniversary of the release of Star Wars: Lavender Menace, the world is still waiting on the extensive backstory, rise to power, and romantic comedy adventures of high femme Amylin Holdo.

A reminder that if you get measles, it basically undoes any other vaccinations you’ve had

If you can’t remember getting vaccinated, go get tested for immunity and get a booster if necessary

Fuck your beautiful sterile death and the murders of disabled people that will happen because you can't handle anything other than your fantasy. Go fight harder for the right of disabled people to live with dignity than you did for your dream of dying in bed.

I am 100% opposed to these laws because in all cases they are used to pressure disabled people to die. Because that's cheaper than providing the supports they need to live. It happens in Canada with MAID, it happens in Oregon, it will happen in Illinois.

trumpcard.gov is live and the million dollar fees are all referred to as “gifts” or “contributions” to an undisclosed party lol

ngl: I am very satisfied with our corporate landlords, and would put my renting situation up against the median ownership situation of my friends/colleagues any day
#Hottake: the "satisfied renter" is one of the most underrepresented voices in the discourse (along with the "Normie Democrat")
Okay let me phrase it this way:

We all consume housing. The question is simply how we pay for it, and there are a ton of complicated inputs into that for any particular consumer.

But unlike almost any other consumption good, housing has gotten moralized in a socially destructive way.

Today, I spoke with Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his wife, Jennifer. In April, when I met with him in El Salvador, Trump said he would never set foot in the U.S. again.

This case has never been about one man alone; if the govt can violate the constitutional rights of one, all our rights are threatened.

The funny thing is there are absolutely traits skills and characteristics that financially super successful people have and they are:

money
being born into money
knowing other people with money

It is important to promise, now, that whatever Trump builds at the White House will be torn down as soon as he leaves.

One of the most frustrating things about both parenting and politics is that it takes at least ten times longer to clean up a mess than to make the mess in the first place.

I take *extreme* exception to the notion these loosened criteria have fueled RFK’s ilk. Wakefield’s infamous paper predates these moves by almost two *decades*, and the anti-vax movement has ebbed and flowed for *centuries*. You can’t take the words of liars here and lay blame at diagnostic criteria
This is worth a read. As noted, the large rises in people being diagnosed with ADHD, Autism etc are fuelling conspiracists: 'something must be "damaging" our kids'...

No, the prevalence of symptoms in populations is stable over time. It's just being recognised now.

As shitty and nightmarish the very concept of ICE is, I really feel heartened and almost a little patriotic at how every city uses it's topography and culture to resist.

Traffic jams in NYC, absurd costumes in Oregon, running ICE into the woods in NC, ice on ICE violence in Minnesota, etc.
