RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.

His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.

It's a fake book cover for Emerie from the Bad Batch called "Kaminoan Secrets". Vaguely VC Andrews style, with the simple symbolic fence in the foreground, and Kamino all raining in the background, and cursive font. Emerie's face is shown. This is not great art just generic photoshop kinda stuff.

The entire backdrop of the first Predator film is men hunting and killing their own species, the post Vietnam continuance of American violence focused on Latin America.

The themes are right there, and plenty of subtext abounds.

The yautja were always a mirror to the humans.

And if the entire species of yautja "doesn't deserve a redemption arc" ( if we're going to entertain this nonsensical concept", than by this logic, the human species in Predator doesn't deserve one either.

It's not as bad as the dude bro racist sexist freakout over Prey from the usual gamergate trash, but it's still. It's Star Wars level dumb Tumblr takes.
We've got:
* Dek is minor coded, no shipping!
* No red blood means the franchise is emasculated
* A yautja as the protagonist is subtle fascism.

I've never seen an upcoming Predator film generate this many asinine takes as Badlands, ISTG.

You don't actually like Rey if you try to remove Kylo from her narrative. Double so if you think a Leia story shouldn't mention him, "ewww he's evil. They should get over him" don't envy any kids you might have with that mindset.
