I genuinely have no idea how to convey this to the American people, but I think the biggest impediment to any kind of immigration reform is that people are convinced that "legal" and "illegal" are immutable, intrinsic categories instead of a rapidly-shifting arbitrary constellation of regulations.

The self-made billionaire is a myth. There isn't a single billionaire I can think of who started from absolutely nothing. Every one of them have had parents who were extremely wealthy and/or well-connected.

There is no such thing as a wealth-creating billionaire. Billionaires are hoarders, who have amassed their obscene wealth by exploiting the labor of the workers who actually generate the value for their businesses

The DRC lives in abject poverty because of economic sanctions as well as the CIA-installed dictatorship because the BILLIONAIRES WANT ACCESS TO THE RESOURCES.
Poverty is a serious issue that we care deeply about. But billionaires aren't responsible for it. The DRC has no billionaires, yet 75% of its population lives in extreme poverty.
