A year ago, we were on the cusp of turning many cancers into chronic rather than terminal diseases through immunotherapy and mRNA vaccines. Today, we're working through the curative qualities of a magical horse paste instead.

i think that this is part of what makes a game fun but isn't necessarily what makes something a game. but also, to shitpost: a game is a set of rules with interactivity and player input at some stage.

Interesting conversation on Discord today about what is a game?

Not in the shitty online argument "This game isn't really a game" nonsense but just more fundamentally, what are the minimum components to make something a game, generally?

It’s a real shame this is free to play and therefore probably gacha hell shit because I vibe extremely hard with this style. Pirate marionettes you say? Hell yeah I’m down.

Isn't this what they already said from announcement? The original article said they were going to try to limit who actually had to deal with it, it just didn't go into specifics much.
Discord is already starting to walk things back a little, so people should keep doing what they're doing (cancel Nitro, leave feedback/criticism, direct contact through support tickets/phone/email/etc)

As much as they're not my jam I kind of hope that the recent surge in "cozy" stuff is a sign that culture as a whole is moving back towards more optimism. A large part of... all of this is that we as a society just kind of stopped thinking that the future could be good at all.

At this point I think the term "Copaganda" is joining terms like "Mary Sue" where whatever salient point was being addressed is gone because it seems to just mean "a cop exists in this media and is not instantly evil" which makes it functionally useless.

I would probably not introduce the “no you have to listen to the Gestapo” bill heading into an election where you’re about to get shellacked while people are furious about said gestapo but what do I know I’m just a Democrat
Ohio Republicans introduce multi-bill package to mandate cooperation with ICE
The suite of four bills has been dubbed by some as the 'Cooperation Package.'

I have to say “the Discord change is about keeping the kids from talking about Gaza” is a pretty fascinating take to see in the wild, like, how would that work even hypothetically, are they going to scan all chats for if someone types the word “Gaza” and automatically kick unverified accounts out?

Well at any rate I did a digital preorder before these reviews dropped and hadn't heard about the weird sex pest VA stuff, so money's already gone, I guess I'll see what I think in a few days.
Really fascinated by what's going on here as I've now seen this and a 95/100. Morbidly curious what's causing such wild swings.
Technically poor and hurried, devoid of the original's charm, and full of filler content and baffling changes, Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a 20/100, a 2/10, a one-star game.

It's a seismic miss that left me questioning my love for the series.

It occurs to me that many people don't know about the GameFan coffee incident.

In 1993, GameFan published a manic 6-page review of the game Cybermorph that was written while tripping on LSD that somebody put in the office coffee pot

The review declared that Cybermorph was the first "real" game

Genuinely pretty amazed at how fluid and good this looks for an N64 title.
Wonder Project J2 (1996) is a life sim by Givro Corporation for the N64 in Japan. Fifteen years after the events of the first game, Dr. Geppetto creates Josette, a Gijin (robot). With his dying words, he sends her to Blueland in the hope she can live her own life with your help. (a learning thread)
