I have to say “the Discord change is about keeping the kids from talking about Gaza” is a pretty fascinating take to see in the wild, like, how would that work even hypothetically, are they going to scan all chats for if someone types the word “Gaza” and automatically kick unverified accounts out?

Well at any rate I did a digital preorder before these reviews dropped and hadn't heard about the weird sex pest VA stuff, so money's already gone, I guess I'll see what I think in a few days.
Really fascinated by what's going on here as I've now seen this and a 95/100. Morbidly curious what's causing such wild swings.
Technically poor and hurried, devoid of the original's charm, and full of filler content and baffling changes, Yakuza Kiwami 3 is a 20/100, a 2/10, a one-star game.

It's a seismic miss that left me questioning my love for the series.

It occurs to me that many people don't know about the GameFan coffee incident.

In 1993, GameFan published a manic 6-page review of the game Cybermorph that was written while tripping on LSD that somebody put in the office coffee pot

The review declared that Cybermorph was the first "real" game

Genuinely pretty amazed at how fluid and good this looks for an N64 title.
Wonder Project J2 (1996) is a life sim by Givro Corporation for the N64 in Japan. Fifteen years after the events of the first game, Dr. Geppetto creates Josette, a Gijin (robot). With his dying words, he sends her to Blueland in the hope she can live her own life with your help. (a learning thread)

I really wish we had a well funded, power critical fourth estate interested in investigating the source of this clearly coordinated effort by payment processors.

Like, we keep seeing the impact of it, but I really want to know the "who" and the "why" beyond nebulous surveillance/puritanism forces.

Seeing lots of people blaming Discord about it which feels like the same impulse people had over the Itch stuff, these things are coming from a step or two behind them.

Not even to be a defense of the companies for doing it but like, they're not going to spend effort on this without being pushed.

Well this was probably inevitable given the constant push by governments for this sort of thing but *sigh*

The people who elected him do also so in that sense it’s a perfect fit.
not sure I’ll ever get used to having a president who actively hates the country that elected him. it’s just very disorienting.

It might be this but I feel like it’s actually that they don’t want to admit what the actual politics was because how do you get mad about “love is stronger than hate” without questioning if you’re the baddies, so they have to leave it vague to let the base get angry over shadows.
It’s so funny that they have to say “suspected” because they couldn’t find someone who speaks Spanish, vexillology, or grids to explain to them what was going on.

First thing I can think of is maybe Yellowstone?
What’s the last broadly popular piece of culture that has modern conservative premises at its heart? I really genuinely have trouble thinking of what it could be.

The part about this moment that enrages me the most is that half the country has removed everything but hate and a gnawing emptiness and demand we follow suit
Genuine “quiet part loud” shit when you say a performer giving a standard concert performance threatens you, goddamn

There are conservatives who can make art and always have been but MAGA’s death of expertise came for artists as much as scientists.
The media desperately wanted to give the right a cultural moment and the problem is that they have no culture.
This was a little over a year ago

Which of course is actually what makes them so unamerican to this crowd. The idea of actually loving something is anathema to conservatives
Two halftime concerts in a row where white conservatives preemptively lost their minds because the chosen artist was “unAmerican,” and the artist responded with “I am American and I love America (you pricks).”

Not to dismiss this critical point but “you eat them. In your mouth” is ad copy worthy of Don Draper ma’am
it'll take ten years of ads where a smiling man holds a can of beans in front of the camera saying "you eat them. in your mouth" before we can sell a real product again. maybe we never find the golden age of the gorilla on a drum kit ever again
