I joined because of the Amazon thing but the DRM thing has been an excellent bonus. It means the kids can listen to Bunny vs Monkey on their Yotos with minimal faff from me.

Lots of chat about prostate screening at the mo. Just want to put it out there that when I had an infection in my prostate last year, the mechanism to check if it was cancer was the most efficient and reassuring NHS process I’ve ever been involved in.

New cycle lanes are not for people who currently cycle.
They are for people who drive because it’s too dangerous to cycle.

As usual, Rosie picks apart this issue well. Home deliveries aren't necessarily a problem but currently the depot-to-door part of the journey has its incentive structure all wrong.
Deliveries have to capacity to allow people to reduce their car use, own smaller cars or even go car free. There are also tensions between delivery drivers and delivery cyclists, and other road users. But those are best addressed at the root cause - delivery companies.

Unless there's an unbreakably valid safety reason why not, all button-operated pedestrian crossings should activate the lights in pedestrians' favour instantly when pressed.

Nice example here of something ad-based websites are rarely able to do: an article with the core message of 'don't buy more stuff'.
