One reason I liked True Detective season 2 at the time is I think it understood the natural ridiculousness of TD1 enough but was still at war with the realization it was a little silly.

@wolfbridge.bsky.social has been nothing but a pleasure. It's odd to have a friendship grow alongside a creative collaboration, but it has, and the best part of continuing to work with an editor is getting a good rhythm in how you both approach a piece.
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.
Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.
So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.

I'm 95% percent pro-pirate but when you see people say things like "It's the only moral distribution method" it's funny how that gets really convenient for consumers!

I grew up in a house where I once got into trouble for getting too big brained about the council of Trent and if I said any of this my parents would have thrown me in a locker.

Here's my Beatles opinion: due to the wheel of karma I was in the upper corner when they were all beating off in that room together, living as a spider, and when George busted he looked in my thousand eyes, planting the seed for a life of spiritual contemplation. That's why Paul is my favorite.

Single biggest takeaway from this when you consider Kurt loved the Beatles is nothing is less creative than the way a "scene" codifies itself while the musicians who make the art the scene builds around usually have wider, more interesting taste.
As someone who is also this guy’s age I can tell you 100% this wasn’t hard at all. The Beatles were Boomer music and they were shoved down your throat everywhere and they reeked of your parents’ nostalgia. Nobody I knew liked The Beatles.
