Im BEGGING y’all: please just give money to yhe foodbanks.

Foodbanks are one charity where money goes a LONG ASS WAY because they get subsidized prices for the food they purchase.

I only raised $3K by myself and it was enough for almost 11,000 full MEALS they told me.

Jesus Christ my pta wants to help families who are losing SNAP benefits and I said ok let’s raise money went give gift cards to the families.

But no that’s too simple a solution. They want to assemble food baskets and send them home with 7 year olds.

I think what the Mamdani's-dad's-cousin-is-his-aunt non-story reveals about white sociopolitics writ large is not merely that they will turn anything into an opportunity to distrust a person of colour, but "extended 'family'" is anathema to a certain flavour of whiteness, out of ignorance or spite.
