Taking that course on contemporary Korean society was worth it for many reasons, but a big one is that the assigned reading & lecture on modernity and religion FINALLY helped me get an idea of what's going on in stuff like these episodes. Korean shamanism is absolutely fascinating to learn about!
#TaxiDriver2 7&8: YES get that terrible man and free those people! But also: for some reason the costumes this time made me laugh extra hard? All the boys got to dress-up! And S2 Go Eun can really kick ass! You go protect other girls!! The little moment when KDG gives her the 🍀 was so sweet, too.

We report when the dawn chorus is at its loudest, even over the morning traffic. All edges of the world are still blurry, whether it is from our sleep-filled eyes, or the simple fact of the dim light. It is chilly, and we are not all the way present, but we feel a little warm.

Have watched 21 eps of Joy of Life S2, and I am loving it! S1 wasn't always my cup of tea, but the tighter focus on Plots and Scheming now is like catnip to me. Fascinating characters - especially the Emperor, because I never have ANY idea what he's thinking, or even what his motivation is. #JoLS2

I grew up in a good but weird environment (think commune but Lutheran?), and did not know how people got jobs. It took a course at Folkuniversitetet to realize 1) librarian is a job and 2) *I* could get that job! I was 23. Enrolled in a LIS at 24. Got a librarian job at 37, after many sidetracks!
