A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.
Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."
Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

The single best line from any rpg ever is from a random encounter table in Anomalous Subsurface Environment by Patrick Wetmore. Still kills me every time

I've been looking into how UF6 is stored, recently.
Natural ratio and depleted UF6 is stored in steel cylinders called 48Y, where 48 is the diameter in inches and 'Y' is a designator for the different models; 48Y is the most common, but there are also 48A, 48X, 48HX, etc with different standards.

Fascinating interview with a private drone designer for the RU military. His knowledge of UKR & Western drones is limited and should be taken with some skepticism but he still presents a quite candid picture into the current state of unmanned warfare:🧵

But banana slugs literally are hermaphrodites! Like that is just a scientific fact!

Okay lets game this out: You are a Nintendo employee given unlimited funds and authority to move Switch 2 production to the US. No new factories, that's going to take way too long, you need to work with existing American Contract Manufacturing capacity. How fast can you do it?

My husband and I run a game store and after all the tariff announcements, he decided to write out kind of a "behind the scenes" of how we spend and spill it out for people who don't understand. He's had so many reactions and shares I wanted to bring it here, too.

Two years ago today was one of the most thrilling moments of my life when I captured this sunrise eruption of Guatemala's Volcán de Fuego. My drone was much closer than I realized, and the eruption was the largest I saw in my two days up there. I may never again film something as remarkable as this:
