No, not kidding at all 😔 If that surprised you, you’ll be appalled at how pandemic frontline (now-ex) NHS workers who ended up with LC have been treated. 5 years ago we were on our doorsteps clapping them, now they’ve been abandoned, many disabled, careers ended. It breaks my heart 💔

It makes no sense. I’m lucky because although I struggle to walk, I can still WFH, but that’s pretty much all I can do. Rest of time in bed. My patient group is full of ex-frontline NHS workers who have lost their health and careers, they’re terrified of getting reinfected. It’s awful.

Not all vulnerable ppl are eligible. Long Covid sufferers have never been eligible, because we’re not considered ‘At-risk’ by the JCVI. Covid disabled me; I’m terrified of what subsequent reinfection/s could do. It makes no sense. 😖

I wish I was a week in bed with Covid. Try four-and-a-half YEARS.
It’s insane that we’re not routinely offering vaccinations to those that want them, and cleaning the air to mitigate infections.

Poorly controlled asthma qualifies; but yes — it’s crazy. I have asthma & Long Covid, asthma entitles me to the flu jab, but Long Covid is ignored. We’ve always been ineligible for the booster since the restrictions. Covid disabled me, yet the JCVI don’t consider me ‘At-risk’. Make it make sense. 🤬

Long Covid sufferers are ineligible for free boosters; the JCVI Green Book mentions LC in the preamble, then doesn’t consider us an ‘At-risk’ group. It makes no sense. Covid disabled me on my first infection at 44yo; I’m petrified what repeat infection/s might do. We’ve been abandoned. #LongCovid

Exactly this 🎯 It’s the economic elephant in the room. Even if they lack empathy for the suffering (trust me, you don’t want Long Covid), you’d think the economics would persuade them. We’re just ignored and abandoned — it makes no sense. A clean air strategy for schools/hospitals would also help.

Yep. Also worth noting, the JCVI don’t class Long Covid sufferers as an ‘At risk’ group, so we don’t get offered them. It’s disabled lots of us and wrecked our lives FFS. Make it make sense.

Every time I accidentally ping the arm off my glasses 🙄 If you know, you know!
Screengrab of a YouTube search bar with ‘IC Berlin how to attach arm’. Seriously, I like these glasses frames, but wish they’d done a decent video on how to reattach it. I always end up muting and slowing down videos with irritating music where everything is being done too fast. Pffft.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

The Long Covid patient group I attend has many (now-ex) frontline NHS workers; disabled, careers ended, struggling to survive because they caught Covid doing their jobs without suitable PPE. Many now have PTSD too. It didn’t have to be this way. They’ve been let down & abandoned. It’s a disgrace 💔

It’s only two days but am missing the cricket already! Massive congratulations to the Champions @trentbridge.co.uk for a spectacular season 🙌

Grim beyond belief. Lots of (now ex-)frontline workers became disabled by Long Covid and lost everything because they didn’t have the necessary PPE. Five years ago we were on our doorsteps clapping these heroes; now they’ve been forgotten about, abandoned and ignored. It’s scandalous.

I’m watching and it’s astounding. We all knew something like this was going on - but the extent of it! While so many were suffering, dying, sunk into loneliness - a few were absolutely RAKING IT IN. The COVID health crisis was a very, very lucrative opportunity for some.

It looks incredible! Thank you for sharing these and your Chicago collection. Phenomenal photos and writing. A trip to the US to see it (and the Eames Ranch, Stahl house and a Mid-century Modern tour, the list goes on!) is firmly on my to-do list when I’m able.

This is how you do it.
UK media take note.

Raskin: "The dictators of the world have got nothing to fear from this hearing. Republicans called it to attack our democratic allies in Europe. The star witness is not a human rights leader like Navalny, but a far-right pro-Putin politician who leads the UK Reform Party."
