I agree with this.

When activists barricaded the Fed Building, ICE didn't return to immigration court for days

When they suddenly required people to check in on a weekend, the community showed up. They only took appointments for a few hours then didn't show up at all the next day

They're cowards
The resistance against ICE is having an effect. Dozens of armed agents deployed along with a helicopter, resulting in ... two kidnappings.
Helicopters.

Armed troops wearing masks.

All for a freaking military-grade raid at a flea market that appears to have resulted in two measly arrests.

DHS and ICE are out of control.

Harrell did this in Seattle and Wilson would be similarly justified in purging Bruce dead-enders
Considering Eric Adams deliberately, as one of his last acts, left a huge $5 billion hole in the budget to screw over Mamdani, feel like Zohran's justified in purging all Adams staffer actually
SCOOP: More than 170 staffers in Mayor Eric Adams’ administration will be notified Wednesday that they will not be working under the administration of incoming Mayor Zohran Mamdani, according to multiple people familiar with the matter.

the fact that amtrak cascades hit another ridership record in FY25 despite shutting down for two weeks and spending half the year running smaller trains with higher prices bc of the horizon recall is another sign that the demand for rail in the pnw is genuinely insatiable

As we celebrate some huge wins in the electoral space, remember that the fight is just beginning.

Dipshit is smashing out a car window with his gun, barrel first. Just rogue, cowboy stiff.

There were two US citizens in the car. They were apprehended and detained for “obstructing” ICE by honking their horn to let people know ICE was in the neighborhood.

This is the reason why outgoing mayor Brucey hated me in our endorsement interviews for 2 cycles.

If you strut around talking about how you stand up to corporations, then you should be able to handle a question about why you, as council president, completely crumbled at the slightest pressure.
Remember this fuckery? They passed the original head tax unanimously then repealed it 7-2 a month later. (Then passed JumpStart a year later.) Every councilmember who voted to repeal will be out of public office next year (except Juarez who was appointed to fill D5 seat go figure)

This is like the end of Jurassic Park for extreme civic nerds in Seattle.
The tenuous decorum between Bruce Harrell’s office and Sara Nelson is evaporating, as Nelson goes after Harrell’s political consultant with new proposed legislation. Harrell’s team and consultant Christian Sinderman call it a misguided priority by a sore loser

Instead of ordering from Amazon, I found a supplier that's over 30% cheaper

The only catch is that I have to show up at a random intersection in South Seattle to pick it up.

The instructions tell me not to approach until the truck has departed.

Mike Solan, SPD guild president, issued a statement openly questioning the validity of the votes for Katie Wilson.

Solan's embrace of the far right & SPD's history of aggression could make a dangerous situation if the national guard is sent to #Seattle.

I don't think "I grew up poor" (i.e. working-class) means you automatically understand what it's like to be a young or not-so-young renter in a city where houses cost a million dollars and rent never stops going up and up. This is why people liked Katie Wilson—she knows what it's like to live here.

All of this is in service of calling it "offensive" to suggest he doesn't understand what it's like to be, say, 35 and unable to afford a one-bedroom apartment in Seattle. Of course it's not offensive, and it has always been incredibly weird (and defensive) that he responds this way.

Still watching Mayor Bruce Harrell's speech in segments. The way he gets mad (and always has) when anyone asks whether he understands how hard it is for regular people to afford to live here is so telling.

OK, "misunderstanding" is the wrong word here. There's a purposeful disinformation campaign from right wingers in WA to sow doubt about our elections. I honestly can't believe @mayorofseattle.bsky.social Harrell would say something like this, especially after the good stuff he said prior.
