corruption is such a helpful lens for understanding so much of what is broken right now. all of these people actually need accountability. allowing them to act with impunity just lets them make all manner of bad decisions. we need to help them rediscover boundaries

Every now and then I go back and read the Citizens United ruling to see if it is as unhinged as I thought, and every time I do that I see it is actually far more deranged than I remembered.

Isn't it nice that you are recognized the moment a politician realizes you aren't just a free vote but someone that has actual value in their eyes?

Of course I say this while acknowledging this means the poor are forever fucked.
