Has it gotten worse under Trump? Absolutely, there’s no denying that.

But it’s an escalation of a system that already existed! There were already kids in cages, children being arrested at gunpoint, toddlers representing themselves in immigration court.

I also don’t think people who were affected by Obama-era deportations would particularly care for everyone advocating to the return of that norm.

That norm was as violent for them as it is for everyone else currently. That’s the problem.

one thing I've learned about internet bullies over the years is that more than anything, they want to break you. they want to force you to admit you're inferior to them. they want to break your spirit, break your belief in yourself, break your ability to trust your own senses and heart and mind.

In case you didn't see my posts about this last year, and earlier this year (I delete them every few months) there's at least three cases you can find on courtlistener relating to people on Bluesky being arrested.

Texas fusion center has been monitoring Bluesky posts aggressively since last year.

Why are people so willing to defend a guy like this when he has a very good chance to reveal he's a racist Sinema but Dem?
incredible how white men are given the benefit of the doubt when anything coming from marginalized groups are treated with utmost suspicion and distorted beyond recognition

On two occasions a Dollar General worker drank a $1.69 orange juice to stave off diabetic shock. She later paid for each drink.

Dollar General fired her anyway.

Now a jury has awarded her $277,565.

Biden *went to court* to maintain Title 42 — an insane and, in my view, facially unlawful policy — for a full year after taking office. Then when he wound it down he moved to replace it with an even more stringent policy that was literally designed by Stephen Miller
Title 42 migration restrictions have ended, but Biden’s new policy is tougher

Outside of that quirk that revealed that people were right all these years and cops really do constantly plant drugs on people, body cams are a net negative. They give off this idea that everything’s above board, because it’s all recorded. It isn’t above board. It’s not all recorded.

When body cams first became widespread there was a huge spike in cops getting caught planting drugs. Because they didn’t realize that activating their cams would save recordings starting 30 seconds before they hit the button. Once they caught on, they stopped getting caught.
Does everyone understand that we have had body cams for decades and it hasn't resulted in justice

I think it's time Richard Heene tried again.
According to multiple NYT sources, it wasn’t even military personnel at Fort Bliss that fired an anti-drone laser at alleged cartel drones. It was CBP who used the weapon on loan from DoD against a child’s party balloon they mistook for a drone. The Pentagon gave CBP an anti-aircraft weapon.
