Government can't be expected to give into every hunger strike demand. I doubt the audience here would be sympathetic to pensioners in £2mn houses on a 50 day hunger strike who had say egged Rachel Reeves.
Is the government going to sit and watch while the #PalestineAction hunger strikers die? Is most of the media going to carry on ignoring them? Just how callous has the Establishment become?

Arguably Gwynfor Evans' threatened hunger strike is why the Thatcher government reversed course and fulfilled its promise to establish a Welsh language tv channel. But the key there is their belief that him going through with it would have resulted in serious civil unrest.
