Quite a few new people coming over in the last few days. Welcome, new followers! (And thank you to @mattsouva.bsky.social for putting me on his list!)

I'm a guitarist working in different modes: weekly ambient improv and short compositions, live solo improvisation, and improv with CMB Cold Spot.

Later in the week than usual, here's Monday's #ambient #guitar #improv, on home-built Res-O-Glas. Inviting more finger noises, some accidental, exposing the means of production. But there's also smoothness and beauty. $0/name-your-price at snwv.bandcamp.com/album/music-...

@doorsitlabyrinth.bsky.social and I had the honor of performing an opening set for Don last month. Totally engaging, totally in command of the keyboard--so much that he makes it seem casual. A fine performance.

The photo suggests that it was her idea, and he's not happy about it.

An old fave. I'm glad this is still accessible somewhere.

Now, more than ever, Larv.

I think it’s important for people to know about Larv.
The side of a brick building in Chicago, behind 33 W. Jackson Blvd. Someone has spray painted a vertically aligned portrait of a caterpillar with a happily contented expression. Above the caterpillar is the text “Larv,” presumably our pleasant caterpillar’s name. I like Larv. Larv is good.

Tonight, Monday October 8, from 8-9:30 PM EDT (UTC-4), I'll perform the 279th #ambient #guitar #improv #livestream of the Monday series. What will tonight's approach be? You'll find out when I do. Get oscillating tonight at twitch.tv/onezeromusic

This week's composition, back to three tracks of guitar, with a twist: 7/4 against 4/4, some all-4/4, and some all-7/4. Can I make up my mind? No. But I like the vibe of this one, chugging along with the barre chords and sparkly arpeggios. streak.club/p/57945/moor...

I enrolled my kids in Dub Scouts and they got pretty good at splicing tape.

Misread a sign advertising Cub Scouts as "Dub Scouts." Dub Scouts should be a thing.

"working their way up to" GR. By the time they read GR, they'd become weary of some of TP's mannerisms (the musical interludes, the jokes, the names), which reduced their enjoyment. Starting with GR, those were all still fresh.

Counterpoint: I started with Gravity's Rainbow, making a goal of at least one section (from boxes to boxes) a day. That worked for me, and I avoided a pitfall that friends encountered: they'd started with V, and read other Pynchon... (1/2)

“while the artworld and popular culture seemed to favor spectacle, i was interested in silence, humility, intimacy, and thus began to describe my work as having a lowercase aesthetic—and i viewed the term as a quiet form of protest.”

Monday's #ambient #pedalSteel #improv is now out. It's like a journey into territory you don't know, but which somehow feels right. Very present timbres that resonate with the space of the reverb. $0/name-your-price at snwv.bandcamp.com/album/music-...

#13 was where I realized we weren't in normal territory, and "too many to count" cemented it.

I'm in awe, really. Some real "I've seen enough" energy here.
