Last night my friend told me that inside her mother's apartment in Kyiv it's 5°C. However long our January has been (217 days and counting), theirs has been a thousand days longer.
Yurii showed the conditions in which he and his wife are surviving through the winter on the first floor of a residential building in Kyiv.
No electricity, hot water, or heating. The average temperature in the apartment is about 3°C. Yurii sleeps in warm clothes and walks around in felt boots.
