Oil and gas companies receive enormous tax breaks in the U.S.

A @factcoalition.bsky.social report found that 11 of these companies are paying 5x more income tax to foreign governments.

And under the new Trump tax law, oil-industry tax avoidance could get worse.

Oil and Gas Companies Are Paying Less Tax to the U.S. than to Foreign Governments
Since 2017, these companies paid $135 billion in income taxes to foreign governments, but just $29 billion to the U.S.

There is nothing like a pep talk from E. She is the one who told me after the Ward 5 convention that the Park Board could use my voice. I am so grateful for her mentorship and guidance as a first time candidate. @efornorth.bsky.social let’s win this Tuesday!

Minneapolis is fired up and ready to elect a new mayor on Tuesday
We're sure it was fantastic and awesome. Anything "great" is a much less and deceptive, not something to aspire for ever again.

This is embarrassing. Mayor Frey is propping up anti-labor candidates and this should be disqualifying.

It’s time for new leadership. Leadership that will support labor and workers.
Barf. Here's the "Team Mpls" plan to “address climate change.” No mention of getting off fossil fuels. Nothing on electrification. Nothing on renewable energy, transit or building housing near transit. Just trees and carbon capture(?). This fluff could have been written by the Koch Bros (1/2)

Nine days ago, the DFL put out a statement condemning Elliott Engen and "his history of bigoted remarks".

Tonight, @governorwalz.mn.gov is speaking at a GOTV rally being organized by...Elliott Engen's friend and former staffer Julius Hernandez.

Make it make sense folks. Just so disappointing.

steve minn has said that he voted for donald trump three times, and his company lupe developmment gave safer hennepin $25k for them to send mailers calling for republicans to vote for jacob frey

the media not writing about the conservative DFL / republican alliance this year is a failure!

Our city isn't doing enough to protect low-income renters. In 2023, over 80% of lower-income renters were cost burdened. That's unacceptable. We need a rent stabilization policy to ensure that renters can call Minneapolis home for generations to come. www.startribune.com/twin-cities-...

This article also quotes both the Davis and Hampton campaigns.

“The Guardian repeatedly sought an interview with Frey and asked to attend a campaign event. The campaign initially agreed, but then did not make the mayor available.”

For the first time in two decades, the Democratic Party has found itself without a clear political leader—or even an obvious frontrunner.

As the New York mayoral race approaches, the party—still grappling with an identity crisis—faces one of its biggest tests since Trump’s win.
