A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!

Last term I tried an experiment: I walked into my Tech and Design Ethics class, admitted that I had *no idea* what to do about ChatGPT - so I would let them figure it out.

As in: their first project was to decide and write the ChatGPT policy for the class.

Here's what happened:

This video filmed by Ben Luhmann shows the moment a federal agent sprayed chemical irritants directly into a man's face in south Minneapolis.

Three agents already had the man pinned to the ground when a fourth agent walked up and sprayed the irritants.

He violated two laws since it's also illegal to wear a mask in a courthouse here. As the administration says, no one is above the law. We need to start arresting them or we're admitting ICE is the President's personal militia

Have y’all seen other crafters/hobbyists/artists/makers putting out into anti-ICE projects? I’ve seen nail art, knitting and crochet. Would love to see more of what folks are getting up to, aesthetically.

This is a great joke but it's also the core of fascist escalation

You have to deport the entire ethnic group bc identifying bad ones would just take too long. But deporting them is too complicated so you gotta throw them in camps. But managing camps w/ millions is too hard so you have to kill them

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

It was @volts.wtf who made the point, if you want good things to happen in America elect Democrats to office

Sadly, this level of vigor and fight is completely foreign to the current Connecticut Democratic party and our pathetic Governor
The Virginia legislature today passed four constitutional amendments, all by day 3 of 2026 session:

—protect abortion rights
—repeal the same-sex marriage ban
—allow mid-decade redistricting
—greatly expand voting rights restoration.

These will all go to 2026 referendums.

Solar+wind+battery storage is the energy future, CT needs to get on board. And because it’s CT, this of course means shutting down the NIMBYs

Battery farms are coming to CT. Here’s what they do — and why they’re sparking debate
The farms can store electricity for when it’s needed most, such as during a blackout.

Sure. AI companies have ALWAYS been training their models on Wikipedia content, which under the free and open access model is available to anyone — including AI companies. Agreements like these require AI companies to limit and offset the strain they place on Wikimedia infrastructure.
Hoping that @molly.wiki can help explain.

I don’t think we need to be told that leaders lie and heroes fail. I think that’s obvious. I need some stories where there are honest people doing good things again. They don’t have to be edgy. They can just be good.

Then you realize it's not actually communism. Personal pricing is a vacuum designed to hoover up the surplus capital that would allow anyone but the ultra-wealthy to generate and maintain wealth. Personalized pricing means your bank account will always be $0.

A competent opposition political party would cut together the footage of what ICE had been doing in the twin cities with Mike Johnson saying "ICE is doing what ICE is designed to do" and have it in ads all across the country
Mike Johnson comes out against additional guardrails on ICE as Democrats call for it.

“I think there's a lot of Democrats playing games right now with national security and with law enforcement. And I think it's dangerous. Ice is doing what ice is designed to do by its very name.”

I mean, I would, if I were them. The US is 100% not to be trusted any more, nor will we be again for a long time, if ever. Even when we get rid of the current feculent toad in what remains of the White House, the US fascist infrastructure will remain and could resurface, like a case of Nazi shingles
Denmark confirms an expanded, more permanent Danish and NATO military presence in and around Greenland, beginning today. Deployments span land, sea, and air, including protection of critical infrastructure, fighter jets, and naval operations. Sweden has committed forces; other NATO allies may follow

"Slow down to fuck over ICE" is actually an anti-speeding message that may resonate with drivers
As I was being tailgated down W. River Parkway by a large SUV with tinted windows, the thought occurred to me that it might help if everyone drives a bit slower. Gives observers more time to identify feds.

We have a 20 MPH speed limit on residential streets, let’s weaponize it
