Maybe our ecogrief steps can help with this too. Let’s review.
1. Be kind to ourselves and others.
Everyone is living a complex life that can prevent them from doing everything they can or acting on every opportunity. Times like these require giving ourselves grace even while we ask for action.
Summary thoughts from our Rebel Bookclub meeting about "No Straight Road Takes You There" from Rebecca Solnit
1. The key differentiation between isolationists and interconnectionists. This came up over and over again.
2. Also key: meandering is hopeful. We don't know yet, and that's good.

Since February, according to my latest analysis, almost 600,000 Black women have been economically sidelined. The November 20, 2025, Jobs Report makes clear this isn’t a blip. It’s a structural crisis. That is not a recovery. It is a redistribution of opportunity.

You probably saw videos of a nighttime raid in Chicago. Agents rappelling from a helicopter, bursting down doors, questioning brown-skinned immigrants.

We investigated -- and found little evidence to support the government’s claims about Tren de Aragua.

Hi.

I’ve been editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue for the last 4.5 years — a dream job, one I never thought a Brown girl from small town Louisiana might hold.

I am so incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and what we accomplished. Our journalism has won major awards. (cont’d)

Senate update: Republicans are now trying to sneak a backdoor national abortion ban into their government funding bill. Republicans will stop at nothing to control women's health care decisions.

My dad the chem prof taught me about the injustice of Rosalind Franklin before I could read. I can only imagine the rant his students got. The stories have been known for decades. We just need to tell them.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

We are choosing to have expensive energy so rich people can get richer.

Here's to the campaign volunteers and GOTV folks. Here's to the folks working food banks and SNAP legal cases.
Here's to caregivers everywhere. 1/7

If you can find this film, while it’s 15 years old, it’s a great watch. A couple tries to live and eat healthy on SNAP in 2010. It’s basically impossible, and they have some really great conversations along the way. www.imdb.com/title/tt1667...

I have bought her jewelry for my astronomy loving niece and it is excellent stuff. Geeks who also like to sparkle, this is an opportunity!
In somewhat terrifying but hopefully positive personal news, I've decided to purchase an extremely expensive 10x10 booth in the exhibit hall at the American Geophysical Union meeting in December. I'll be selling my gemstone and wire jewelry and art. I hope you'll come find me there.

Find a No Kings protest Saturday and go!

Don't worry that you've never been to a protest before. Don't worry about being dressed wrong or looking out of place. Don't worry that you don't agree about everything -- or even about much -- with lots of people at the protest.
