I think a lot about Bishop Tutu in The Book of Joy: we have to find and express our joy in the midst of our hard work/resistance or people won’t help us cuz ‘come join me in my misery’ isn’t very attractive.
And we need more help.
So joy is key to the story of resilience.

I hunt for gratitude.
I'm grateful that my Colorado kid is so friendly he has to check on folks every shooting.
I'm grateful they are OK this time.
I hate that sentences exist that end with 'every shooting.'
His generation is mostly more resilient & more traumatized than they should have to be.
