I would like the definitions of "small" and "footprint" please
Homan says the ICE drawdown in Minnesota is "already underway this week, and will continue into the next week."

A "small footprint" will remain, he says.

But Trump's ICE surge in Minneapolis is officially over.

Hans Kim is part of the Austin transplant comedy scene Joe Rogan built which counts racism as a big part of their appeal so that clip looking to divert anti-ICE sentiment into anti-Black racism isn’t too surprising, but in case you were wondering how they’d pivot with xenophobia losing appeal, yeah.

it's hard not to think about how 5 or 10 years from now, the shooters (and games writ large) we'll be reverently talking about will still be the same ones we talk about now (DOOM 2016, Titanfall 2, etc) because there is no money going around to make new ones of those happen. we are in purgatory.

When people of color refer to the "weaponization of white woman tears" we are not ever kidding about this being a recurring thing or the prospect of it being deployed hanging over any interaction, or it being a way of maintaining status and power when a threat to any of it appears.

The most annoying facet of AI marketing is people like this braying in your face that it's here to stay because their stock portfolio demands it. Meanwhile actual tech innovation is getting kneecapped because AI made ram cost $5000 🙄
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Investigators wrangled video from Nancy Guthrie’s Google Nest camera out of ‘backend systems’
It’s not yet clear how the FBI collected the video. Experts said in some cases it’s possible to collect data from the complex infrastructure that has enabled cloud-based cameras.
