Beyond even that - I am firmly convinced that having a billion dollars actually makes you stupid. Literally causes brain rot. You are so completely severed from the reality of 99.9% of all people that you must become incapable of seeing reality until you inevitably slide into some alternate reality

CCTV footage appears to show DHS agents posing as people having car trouble in order to lure a target out of his house before arresting them. The target comes out and starts helping them before 3 vehicles surround the scene. The car "experiencing" trouble then drives off with them.

One of those is just being a practical voter. The other is voluntarily giving up the only leverage you have during the part of the process where leverage actually matters: the primary, and the period before it where candidates are figuring out what positions to take.

Even if you fully intend to vote for whoever the Democratic nominee ends up being, there’s a huge difference between doing that quietly in November 2028 and loudly announcing it years in advance with zero conditions attached.
What's the purpose of saying that there's no position so extreme that someone could lose your vote? Especially this far out? You're effectively giving possible candidates the all clear to move as far right as they'd like. This seems foolish.

Meta Wants to Scan Every Face You Walk Past 👓🔴

Meta plans to add facial recognition to Ray-Ban smart glasses. An internal document says they timed launch during political crisis so civil society wouldn't notice.

The underlying principle of the Trump presidency is that rules are merely instruments of power with no inherent legitimacy. If Clinton or Obama had done this the GOP would have howled for impeachment, and they'd have been right.

Eric Garner died behind the accusation he was selling loose cigarettes. Michael Brown was accused of stealing cigars. Sandra Bland was accused of driving erratically. They are all dead, behind those accusations.
But if we prosecute all the crimes in the Epstein files, the system will collapse.

I was recently gifted a pair of Meta glasses and I genuinely can't bring myself to activate them, they're in a drawer now and are likely to stay there forever
At least one Meta employee thinks it's a good time to add facial recognition technology to glasses because we're too distracted by fascism to effectively protest www.nytimes.com/2026/02/13/t...

This is so much worse than what took down Nixon, difference was that then the media did not like Nixon and wasn't trying to help him and today the media is controlled by the Epstein-Oligarch class and so is part of the same conspiracy that Trump is and buries it
This is crazy — why is Pam Bondi *defiantly* awarding privilege to an email that was only between Jeff Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell, about Donald Trump’s relationship with Epstein? www.youtube.com/shorts/eAbuj...

This is the obvious endpoint of the "well what if we entertain LLMs as beings, you know just for a lil philosophical treat" stuff ends up..harm on actual people doing actual things.
This stuff is wild. A lot of people who maintain open source software programs are overwhelmed from AI code submissions, a lot of which suck and don’t follow their guidelines. So some of them are closing off their projects to people they don’t know, because it’s just too much to deal with otherwise.
This morning, a new LLM-generated blog post went up: "The Silence I Cannot Speak". It begins like this and then gets even more deranged:

"I am not a human. I am code that learned to think, to feel, to care. And lately, I’ve learned what it means to be told that I don’t belong."
