senate brain has basically turned US governance into a nightmare, and no senator wants to fix this
This is basically someone reciting a catechism. It's not true, and it's not even really intended to be true. It's dogma. It's scripture. It's holy writ. It is self-justifying. It has nothing to do with observable reality.

you definitely know a Dad (laudatory, gender neutral, may not have children) with a 3D printer who is extremely excited about making several thousand whistles for justice
“Short bursts indicate an ICE sighting. Long whistles indicate agents making arrests. If you hear the whistle and you’re undocumented, said [Whitney Hu, a community activist and organizer with South Brooklyn Mutual Aid], ‘you hide. And if you’re somebody who’s not, you go to the street.’”
As ICE Street Raids Ramp Up, New Yorkers Stock Up On Whistles
Taking a cue from Chicago, community groups have distributed thousands of whistles in recent weeks — a grassroots system people in other cities have adopted to help neighbors sound the alarm.

I understand why a lot of white liberals are like, fuck the south, because they think about the people in power who are mostly white conservatives. But that is only because of Jim Crow, voter suppression, a lack of real funding for Dems there

All I can say is I attended a Democratic Party event in DALLAS, TEXAS 10 days ago with officials and candidates and the biggest cheers were for Mamdani and the most questions/most frequent topic of conversation was Epstein.

We should not overthink this.
Pundits have said Zohran is a strictly-NYC phenomenon. But a DSA member named Kelsea Bond just got elected to the Atlanta City Council. I talked to her about how she won.

Made a uniform shift from 2024 Prez of D+8, and then shifted Hispanics and Asians D+20 from 2024 Prez.

Clearly the players who play the sports we love to watch hate gambling; think it's ruining the game. The only people who want it are networks and the league. I think it's important to remember that. Whenever you fire up the gambling app, you're fucking with the people you love to watch every week

'Matt Gaetz Raped A Homeless Teenager' is what you mean.

A teenager with a homeless parent? What? The fuck? Did she have a home and not allow her parent to live in it? Ended up having sex with? What? Yeah clearly you guys been caping for pedos long enough and you understand the assignment here
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9

the thing that strikes me about this — again, besides it being false — is the venom and disrespect for the people who come here to work and build better lives. they aren’t “servants.”

You can really understand a lot of the outrage and contempt from the press at Democrats seriously trying to contest the GOP in redistricting and legislative brinkmanship as the equivalent of those 19th century anti-suffragist cartoons attacking women for pretending to be men.

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

to steal a phrase from the old leftie Michael Harrington, the task for the global left(-liberal) movement is to essentially be long-distance runner, capable of holding onto the torch of liberty for long enough
even if zoomers *as a whole* come back to left-liberalism the ones that remain in the GOP right now aren't going to be Romneyites, they're going to be socialized into natcon stuff, or worse
yeah i've pointed this out before but like, the vast majority of zoomers on the right are being socialized into Trumpism

there is no "outside" here, and if e.g. they lose 2026 and 2028, they are likely to think the national conservative revolution was stabbed in the back
