The mere possibility of hiring Alexis to give your sci-fi story a desperately needed punch-up is one you should embrace right now!

Her contribution to Neurocracy sent its narrative sprawling in some genuinely wild directions ✨

Especially if patreon/newsletter subs or go fund me etc are part of your income. (1/3)

The games industry has a long history of glorifying and normalising military violence. A blurring of “war and play” that both militaries, militaristic organisations and the games industry benefit from.

This has been happening before digital games existed, but has been amplified massively by them.
I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

Hey! I think this'll probably be one of the games of the year. It's been described as being 'relatable millennial content' and it kind of is? But if that doesn't sell the game to you, you should know there's a bunch of other reasons to love this game, I thought I'd mention a couple quickly.

First review of 2026 is live and it's for a good 'un -- an exquisitely esoteric database mystery from @inkle.co.

Shades of Sam Barlow, naturally; I was also reminded of Benjamin Labatut's "nonfiction novels", The Maniac and When We Cease To Understand The World. www.theguardian.com/games/2026/j...

taking trump seriously rn would be too damaging to a US in decline so the whole system is squirming to not look at him directly. press translating what he says to sound more sane, democrats just talking about eggs. he's too big to fail

I know that wiki + ai article is going around and people are extreeeemely understandably mad at that headline, I found this thread to be helpful context!
Sure. AI companies have ALWAYS been training their models on Wikipedia content, which under the free and open access model is available to anyone — including AI companies. Agreements like these require AI companies to limit and offset the strain they place on Wikimedia infrastructure.

I've been commissioned to write a piece about games based on real places that changed peoples' perception of that place or had some kind of local impact - are you a dev who made a game like this? Or are you a player who has a story about a game that inspired you to visit somewhere? Let me know!
