I also talked my way into bringing my guns into The Tops so I could shoot Benny in his fucking face the moment I saw him. I did not appreciate his attempt to kill me, so I felt very strongly about demonstrating to him the proper way to shoot someone in the head at the first opportunity.
This was my reply to Vulpes Inculta in Nipton, they had to send the backup NPC to threaten me in New Vegas because the intended one inexplicably exploded

No, I 100% agree that computer RPGs these days have too much handholding. I, too, yearn for the days of being able to spend hours crafting my perfect build from hundreds of available options, only to discover that it mathematically cannot survive the mandatory rat fight portion of the first dungeon.

Sergeant Slaughter took the page after Sam Jones in my autograph book, and meeting him was by far the best celebrity experience I’ve ever had. In addition to pictures and an autograph, he will put you in a sleeper hold—a real one—until you tap out. Hilarious! If you ever have a chance, meet him.
