I think about this quote from the Luddite movement all the time
John Booth, a 19-year-old apprentice who joined a Luddite attack on a textile mill in April 1812. He was injured, detained and died after being allegedly tortured to give up the identity of his fellow Luddites. Booth's last words became a legend: "Can you keep a secret?" he whispered to the local priest, who attested that he could. The dying Booth replied, "So can I."

Fire intentional? The school burnt Jan 14, 1948 at 7:30 at night by criminal hand? Translated from French to English this was one of the last entries made in records kept at L’ecole St Henry. It’s believed the Catholic Run residential school near Delmas was set ablaze by a small group of children who were attending the school at the time. And ten years of research by Jack Funk, a Battleford author and historian seems to support this widely held theory. In an interview w Harvey Tootoosis of Poundmaker Reserve, a former pupil at L’Ecole St Henri, Funk discovered many of the students were forewarned of the attempt to destroy the school. “The word was out. Delay— don’t go to bed. Something was going to happen” Tootoosis recalled students saying on the night of the fire. He said most of the students were playing outside that cold evening, awaiting evening mass. As the nuns herded children upstairs, Tootoosis said he could see flames shooting through the hallways. The children were whisked out of the school without injury. Tootoosis who was nine years old at the time, said attempts were made to save the building but the fire spread quickly. Some of the children say some older boys had taken wood shavings, poor coal oil over them and touched them with a match. After starting the fire they climbed out the window and joined the other students. “The nuns cried. The children did not.” according to Funks research “They stood stony-eyed and watched.”

That prisons are by design and policy so bereft of stimulation, education, entertainment, joy and connection makes it very difficult to say this is bad actually however it does not make it impossible to say this is not uplifting and heartwarming actually
