Absolutely. Sometimes those struggles produce some great outcomes. Sometimes they bomb, but that's fucking life. It's not sunshine and rainbows all the time. But the struggle is where you grow.

To the extent I want to outsource any writing, it is boilerplate shit like moving dates (which requires a whole goddamn motion, because lawyers), but actual legal writing? Research? That is literally the job, man. Even on the days I don't want to do it, it's still fun. Is it a struggle some days?

This is only part of how I feel whenever I see someone do the "AI is going to make your job as a lawyer obsolete" nonsense.*

For me, the most interesting part of lawyering is reading, writing, and developing arguments. I LIKE that part of lawyering. I don't want to fucking outsource it!

As a public defender, I'm sorry, and it sucks having people shit on your practice area. Far too many good lawyers get too much shit for doing good work.

(Then there are bad lawyers who don't get shit on enough, but that's another thread).

I am also not Catholic, and thus confused about the Pope's "apparent rise?" I thought being the FUCKING POPE was about as high as you can get in that particular organization.
