It might feel like you're shouting into the wind, but if we ALL shout then we are heard.

Mobilise, activate, volunteer, join a Union/Party.

Don't give up, that's what they want✊🏼

So, Mr Hipkins, now would be a REALLY GOOD TIME to state for the record that a coalition with National or ACT or NZ 1st is off the table. If that isn't made very clear there will be many people like me who will change their party vote.

There is no evidence of this.

Well, apart from all the OIAed stuff about oil and gas producers.
Hang on, is this about NZ or the USA?
This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

It's funny because it's true.

And because it's true, it's not funny at the same time.

Funny that.

Local politicians in NZ can kick it off by NOT promoting, employing or excusing men who’ve harassed, abused or assaulted women. #nzpol

Stop sweeping the issue under the carpet for the ‘bigger picture’ because that bigger picture without accountability or consequences is a misogynistic hellscape.
Today is International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. It’s a day to raise awareness around all forms of violence against women and girls and to call for an end to gender-based violence.

The Ardern govt did kind of help with the incentives for landlords to build to rent.
TBH if we had a rule where you had to build 1 for very 2 houses you bought I would be ok with that..
Landlords do not provide housing they’re in a shoddy business that offers very little protection to those who need to rent.

Yeah yeah not all landlords, not all men either but lens.monash.edu/@politics-so...

Thread time.

These proposed local government reforms are being reported as the end of Regional Councils but actually they're probably the end of a lot of rural and smaller district councils in New Zealand. Not sure what I mean?

For three points, which of the following happens in a democracy?

1. Minister appoints his mate to new regional govt body with veto power.
2. Minster's buddy has 51% of the votes
3. Miniter's buddy is just an obsever, reporting back to the Minister who then gets to sign off major decions.

Chippy wants "to work with them (Nats + Act) to make it a success."

Chippy, I don't want to work with
you or any party led by you to make anything this rotten, hard right, racist, job and environment wrecking govt does a "success".

You said the same when charter schools were announced.

Sounds like the only response Hipkins can muster is to mumble indistinctly out of both sides of his mouth:
' "If what they come up with is sensible, I certainly want to leave open the option of working with them to make it a success," he said.'

Listen to the clip. Paraphrasing here: number one reason to go in is it will be a "feild day" for American oil companies; valued at one trillion dollars.

The wars are all about money, they always were. Especially oil money.

Think on that next time you fill up and vote for system change.

Why Trump is provoking a war with Venezuela: “for the American oil companies [it] will be a field day.”

God help all the people who will be killed. The end of the fossil-fuel era cannot come soon enough.

Look. What I say to you is this.

Hundreds of you may die but life is overvalued in our market. As with smoking, health cuts, poverty, benefit cuts, scrapping road safety, ministers making medical decisions gutting public housing and Lifeline cuts, it's a price my govt is willing to pay.

Our kiwisaver changes are in no way a prelude to increasing the retirement age and gutting Super in favour if market-based individual savings account. Spent your life on poverty wages? Not worked to care for children or due to sickness? Sucks to be you!

wait lmao why would i believe national are going to increase kiwisaver contributions when *this term* they cut them. And it was a policy, not "oh something had to be cut to pay for something more important", they said "we don't want to pay this anymore. for the budget"
Who cut the $1000 Kickstarter? National
Who reduced the minimum contribution to 3%? National
Who reduced the member tax credit from $1040 to $521? National
Who then reduced the same member tax credit from $521 to $260.72? National.

Don't believe National on Kiwisaver.

Alas. He's not stepping down to spend more time with his money or to open a tourism business for multi-millionaire donors to be driven around in limos sneering at the poor.

Or perhaps he'd open an ill-fitting suits shop.
