Why do you think The Zone of Interest was such a gut-punch of a movie? It's because it showed humans acting like humans while knowing and hearing exactly what was happening 100 feet away from them, not because it was a series of shots of faces looking grim and gritty and pantomiming emotions

I decided to give a hatewatch of the "pilot." As much as critics are both praising and pulling apart the details of AI face rendering, what's most striking to me is that every single "shot" is just six seconds of a character looking Meaningful without any actual acting or movement

One of my favorite jokes of all time is "Adolph Hitler Commits Suicide" being a tiny headline under the banner story about a hare-vs-tortoise race ... in 1943, two years before Hitler committed suicide. He was alive and well when the Warner Bros. cartoonists made this joke.

Dammit, I think my vacuum just conked out on me. Thought there was something wrong forming with it for a while because it had stopped really picking up things, but it just completely stopped on me. I unplugged it quick just in case. Now I need to either get that one fixed or buy a new one 🫠

I've no clear idea, but I'd like to discover why. When my mom and I were in New York years back and went to Ellis Island, they had a program to find your family name. We found both my parent's families on there IIRC.

Adobe Animate remains an industry standard for TV animation. Star Trek: Lower Decks was made in Animate. Haunted Hotel was made in Animate. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was made in Animate.
And because you can't buy a permanent licence anymore, it'll just be gone.

For "The Modern Pleasuremage", there are quite a few antagonists (and in some ways Aisha is her own greatest enemy). Still, I think the character who casts the longest shadow over the novel is Aisha's late father Jonathan Njeri. I would be absolutely surprised if he is anyone's favorite.
