In perhaps the least surprising news, ever, it turns out that when my Evri parcel was marked "delivered" on Thursday evening...
That meant "can't find it on the van just mark it as delivered anyway."
I know this because the chap in the shop it was meant to be delivered to overheard the guy say it.

Dungeons and Dragons and tabletop roleplaying games more generally are wonderful, and it's brilliant that more people are getting to experience them.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

This is distinct from rich people hating "the poor," that's a constant; now, like pre-modern aristocrats, they seem to hate the very idea of useful work, of any transaction that doesn't involve them getting money just because.

Thinking again about how the Campbell's soup executive melted down about making "poor people" food, and the broad-ranging disgust rich people now for the very idea that their job might provide a product or service (especially to the poor) and not just siphon up money for no return and no reason.

There was a state, obviously, and there was also welfare, but assuming for a moment that the historical basis of her argument was true, she seems to be saying that the only truly Christian system of government would be anarchism.

Don't contest the broad principle of this idea, but have misgivings about handing the incalculably vast resources of Amazon to an organisation responsible for the largest and most sadistic miscarriage of justice in UK legal history.
Me about to piss off a bunch of capitalists: If Bezos doesn’t want to pay his fair share in corporate taxes, I don’t see why we shouldn’t nationalise Amazon and make it a subsidiary of the post office.
