over a year ago, i gave a talk at the xoxo conference about a mural, a mcdonald’s, and a man. (but it was also secretly about life, and legacy, and meaning.)

finally, i’m blogging the full story, with behind-the-scenes details, and a video of the talk.

The Heritage Foundation has released a 250-year roadmap to “save America.”

The document is a how-to guide for subjugating girls & young women: a detailed plan to push them out of college, funnel them into early marriage and motherhood, and then trap them there.

Just one brown person and you can have your dog back
I tell you what, Ring figured out exactly how to weaponize white people’s empathy in service to a corporately controlled surveillance state.

Tell them it will find your dog.

Some people can't afford the cost of a Real ID, or a copy of their birth certificate, which is why it's important for those of us who can help to help. Even helping just one person goes a long way.

This is about preparation for any foolishness while we continue to fight for our right to vote.
Games are being played with your right to vote. I know it's not possible for everyone, but I'm making sure I got all my paper work in order. Voter registration, certified copies of my birth certificate, Real ID, and U.S. passport.

And the start of early voting is marked on my calendar. No excuses.

They were standing in liberated Buchenwald - or, as this gentleman said, "you might call a detention center."

Full on concentration camps. "We don't know half of what's going on in the camps, but we know enough" is echoing from 85 years ago.
Kelly Vargas writes about what happened to her, her husband, and their 6yo daughter in the family camp in Texas.

Filth, illness, medical abuse—her child has lasting complications from being injured by a staff member.

We don't know the half of what's happening in the camps, but we know enough.

The economic term for this kind of behavior where you're stealing other people's wealth and not generating new wealth is rent seeking.

The thing is that many of these models don't have to be this exploitative. The food apps are a good example. They do provide an actual service /1
The main business model of Silicon Valley from Uber to AirBnB to Spotify is: skim profit off others' goods and labor. Often in ways that are exploitative of individuals or destructive of larger forces (as with Amazon and the retail that kept people heading out in public).

Many are unable to close for the day but are donating 25% of their proceeds to Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC).

Does anyone have a list going?
