guys, you're arsenal fans. you spent years eating shit when your team of nice boys playing football the right way couldn't win anything. rival fans now think of this team the way you thought of mourinho's chelsea. you should be loving every minute of it.
There's this thing that happens with online discourse around Arsenal where non-Arsenal fans say they're boring and horrible to watch, and Arsenal fans respond by saying they're actually enjoyable.

No they're not. They are boring. The correct response is "mad cuz bad, skill issue, scoreboard."

Como just recorded the highest single-match xG without scoring in the top 5 🇪🇺 leagues since 2017/18. Nico Paz's missed penalty was enough to surpass the previous record holder, none other than... Atalanta, who had 5.64 non-penalty xG in a goalless draw vs Empoli in 2018/19

The most frustrating thing for Sinner is that I got the impression the main reason he lost was a lack of aggression and bravery, something that’s hurt him before against Alcaraz. I don’t think he would have beaten Alcaraz in a final with that mindset, even if he had made it there
Looking back, not surprising Sinner looked so upset with himself after losing, considering the amount of opportunities he had to break the match open. Felt like the tennis equivalent to creating a stack of chances and losing 1-0, but was a matter of risk in bigger moments, Đoković far more inclined.

Although I would have liked Sinner to win, last night was a fucking classic. On top of the spot serving to protect his serve, especially facing BP so many times as the match wore on, an absolute tactical masterclass from Đoković. He is the greatest manager of five-set matches this sport has seen.

Swapping Frattesi for Jones?! Where do I sign? Can I chip in?
🚨⚫️🔵 Inter are in direct club to club talks with Liverpool for Curtis Jones on loan deal with buy option clause. Negotiations ongoing but linked to Davide Frattesi exit with #NFFC waiting for an answer. Inter and Liverpool, discussing today.

imagine walking into a coaches meeting in, like, 2022 and being like, I have two revolutionary ideas: "man marking and hoof it in the box"

well, it happened and it's disgusting
in the latest Expecting Goals newsletter (free to read!) I broke down the numbers on the Premier League set piece revolution and why I think it marks a major new tactical trend in the Premier League that will be unusually difficult to dislodge www.expectinggoals.com/p/the-set-pi...

I have been saying. Aryna smashing her racquet, Coco smashing her racket, zooming in on Iga crying during her cooling down routine…players need an area where they can decompress privately. not everything needs to be filmed and we are not entitled to seeing everything either. this isn’t big brother.
After her quarterfinal loss, Coco Gauff has suggested “conversations” should be held on player privacy at the Australian Open after she smashed a racket in a place she thought was private — and saw it broadcast to the world.

Nowhere near the finished article on a hard court - and Collignon gave him legitimate problems in R1 - but from where he was a couple of seasons ago, Musetti's improvement on the surface has been huge. More discerning shot selection, sturdier serve, better conditioning and footwork. Kudos.
3 - Lorenzo Musetti has now become the third player born since 2000 to reach the Men’s Singles Quarter-Final at all four Grand Slam events, after Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Showtime.

i am very firmly in the camp of tennis being a skill sport not a death sport. i'm sorry if back in the day you played in horrific conditions and that made you feel macho and these guys should have to do it too. it is not compulsory to treat tennis like an extreme sport.
