The big new thing for me was manga, been really enjoying all 3 I've started but Frieren's been the highlight. Great month in TV & film, all excellent but Queen's Gambit and Orb I enjoyed most. Not much in games, but was great to finally play Tonic Trouble after all these years.

I wanna revise this. A *little*. Like no big turnarounds here this game is very bad. What I wanna add is this also felt like about as good as it could have possibly been given the circumstances and despite everything does give me optimism for Prime 5 or whatever they do next, Metroid or otherwise.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (DNF)
Absolutely terrible on almost every metric I can measure it against. As a Metroid game, a complete failure, wholly lacking even the suggestion of exploration or isolation. As a linear action game, repetitive, shallow, & boring. I guess it looks quite nice. Miserable.
