The Target boycott that AFT joined on Labor Day is seeing success. This holiday season, we're doubling down to demonstrate organized labor's economic power, as well as the consequences of ignoring the will of workers and the good of working families.

We ain’t buying it: Why we boycott Target
For a long time, Target—that popular mega store that seemed to hit just the right combination of low prices and of-the-moment swagger—was everyone’s darling, the go-to spot for everything from groceri...

This is a very sweet (if very Christian-centric) trans-led mutual aid project that connects anonymous gift givers with unhoused or in-foster care trans kids.

Zohran Mamdani: "We're gonna make this a city that doesn't just protect trans kids, but also celebrates and cherishes them."

Really weird to describe colonial filibustering in the Palestinian territories as "migration to Israel"
Zohran Mamdani chastised a Manhattan synagogue that hosted an event promoting migration to Israel and settlements in occupied territories. His stance further tested his strained relationship with pro-Israel Jews in New York.

I held on to a laptop for 11 years and only just replaced it this year with a used one for under $400.

There's been no appreciable gain in having faster phones, and Windows 11 isn't much more demanding than Windows 10.

Prices go up, but there's no commensurate gain.

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.

Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.

Appreciate this take from @katelynburns.com and am reminded that this is one of the many (many!) reasons we need more trans elected officials and policymakers in positions of power: so that the needs and expectations of the entire community aren’t put upon a single person.
For my newsletter today, I wrote about why I've changed my mind about Sarah McBride. (I still find plenty to disagree with) www.burnsnotice.com/revaluating-...

“I don’t care for her [Sarah McBride] but I’m not frothing at the mouth over her either”

I wish more people—and more trans people, in particular—could take this position!
i think this is largely fair - she's in an extremely unenviable spot as being the de facto representative of the trans community/trans advocacy while also there to ostensibly represent delaware. it's really a no-win position. i don't care for her, but i'm not frothing at the mouth over her either
