One of my lasting memories of working in the gallery was ducking into the House of Reps in the night during speeches on the marriage equality bill and Katter said some of the most homophobic stuff I've heard there.

Party registration news: something called The Riverina State party applied for federal registration in October! It has expressed hope that its registration can be finished before Farrer but given it's not yet been advertised that seems highly unlikely.
