Would love some in-depth numbers on what the majority of 20-30 somethings basically paying a 9% higher marginal tax rate has actually done to economic behaviour. Feels very under-discussed bsky.app/profile/igma...
Student loan repayment thresholds frozen for a further three years.

More debt burden falling on graduates.

And even more reason to cut university places by 20-30%.

You'll be hearing plenty more on BGE24 from me in coming days and weeks - I have a book to sell after all - but for now a little amuse bouche from the endnotes - *was* Liz Truss really outlasted by a lettuce?

Waiting for my car to charge in a services outside Milton Keynes. At the table next to me, 2 profoundly racist lorry drivers are openly discussing which is best: the way they want to kill Chinese people, or the way they want to kill Muslims. Not kidding. Sickening.

Today's immigration statistics (at 930) will likely show a further steep fall.

Plus sides to today: Two-child benefit scrapped. Largely progressive tax implications. Good market reaction. No big spending cuts. Nightmare prospect of cutting funding to net zero etc avoided. It's a left-wing budget. Those who say there's no difference between Labour and Tories are bananas.

If Farage had just admitted, apologised and repented his teenage racism - water under the bridge. But the fact that he has denied the truth and maligned those saying it NEARLY FIFTY YEARS ON, indicates to me not only his untrustworthiness, but that these antisemitic beliefs are not so historic

These men will now be paid actual money for their analysis of today’s budget.

As for Farage’s use of racist slurs being confined to his childhood - well, that's not what Alan Sked, the founder of UKIP, claimed in this 2014 interview.

He says here that Farage was using the "n" word as late as 1997.

Farage would have been about 33 at time.

Our convicted felon president, who pardoned Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys convicted of seditious conspiracy, wants to charge Mark Kelly, a decorated war veteran and astronaut, with seditious conspiracy.

That’s some next-level banana republic shit right there.

Brexit left the UK divided societally, impoverished economically, and diminished internationally.

Farage, Johnson et al acted to undermine the nation state of the UK for their own (or other's) nefarious ends.

They should be hauled up for treason.
