Hot take: airport attire evolved to the changing airport. TSA pat downs, removing shoes, cramped seats, waiting hours because of a delayed flight…these conditions favor the sweatpants & running shoes. Athletic/leisure wear was the natural progression with the changing environment.

The older I get, the less I’ve cared about a future hypothetical child excelling at a specific class. What I’ve valued is the ability to ace rainbow road without falling off the edge.
I think the belief by the powerful that "people will put up with many things if you are excellent at math" is incredibly revealing in terms of understanding How We Got Here

For the record, this doesn’t make sense. If you want to avoid paying a middle man who inflates prices you have to get universal healthcare. The reason we haven’t seen a viable alternative since the ACA is that there is no non-socialist way to both keep prices down & avoid a gouging middle man.

Aphantasia is something I discuss with my psychedelic-assisted therapy clients. Many ask if they’ll see visuals & I ask how well they can visualize an apple. Anecdotally, this feels like a good correlation. If they can’t visualize well, their sessions may feel like emotions in a swirl of darkness.

What blows my mind about whales is to keep in mind that this is a naked mammal. A mammal with lungs swam down into the dark depths of the ocean and pulled out a rare squid simply by using echolocation.
