Which is the nature of being in an economic and political union. That’s why smaller countries aspire to join. The net value to us economically and socially was still significantly higher than the cost of choosing to leave. Which is why the other large economies choose to stay. We were conned.

And we are losing around £32Bn per year in terms of the hit on GDP caused by the decision to leave. In addition to the ridiculous red tape on trade and travel restrictions we have inflicted upon ourselves. So not a direct payment but a significant net loss.

I don’t think I follow. Polanski’s views are unchanged over some time. If the White House is perceived to be an unreliable ally, more voters may move to a similar position. I don’t think anyone is playing games.

I think it will depend on how credible the USA is as a defence partner by the time of the GE. I am unconvinced that the current White House would honour its treaty obligations. In this context the idea of pursuing an alternative European centred alliance may be more plausible.

Also when are they going to be asked how they are going to do this? Nobody just lets you rock up at their ports and airports with hundreds of thousands of people that you have just decided that you don’t want. It’s just racist batshittery!

The position on NATO will be problematic at a GE. I don’t think it is unreasonable to ask why the wealth tax will work better here than in other countries. He answered well. He needs data on the taxable assets and impact of equalisation of CG tax on recall to boost credibility.

The issue of food security that he raised is wildly underreported. The likely collapse of coral reefs and increasingly unpredictable crop yields ought to be scaring the shit out of governments. We are woefully unprepared for what’s coming down the track.

Who on earth is going to fight for keeping betting shops on our local high streets? Bookies are just parasites. They add no material value to anything at all. They pay far less tax here than in equivalent economies. Of course they should be taxed more.

It’s going to be an absolute shit show driven by international politics. West Midlands Bill are justified in playing the card they are playing. I just think it ought to have been done through the political back channels this is normally run through instead of shitting our pants in public.

On the Marseille front, a club not used to away fans apart from PSG. I’ve been at PSG. Marseille away aren’t even let out until 2 hours post match. All of their away fans are ‘Ultras’. Away fans travel more in different leagues. Rangers and Celtic is just sectarian hatred and politics.
