At that age somebody 30 seems to be making it. And if their advice is to go on and follow addictive bad habits, it may be easy for us older dudes to say "What do you expect at 30?" and we can forget how once we thought those guys were So Cool. But it's true, we can't expect much wisdom from any age.

I was tempted in my college years to give in and just try to make and spend as much money as I could. These days it can seem like all the cool kids are gambling on sports. When people older than us seem to be doing that stuff, and getting by... even more tempting.

The worse things get, the better for intentional communities. More really good people are willing to consider experimental living arrangements. People are grouping up for housing and food.

Thing is, to people aged 10 to 25, 29 or 30 is an Elder who may understand today's reality better than people over 50. So if the example they set is really bad, it still seems to be working for them, as far as males younger than them are concerned.

When lab rats are exposed to random stress or punishment they cannot get away from, like when the experimenter electrifies the floor in jolts, they attack each other. And these are about the most submissive mammals in existence.

But I think that is exactly the future that the Rich are so scared of, they are doing all this.
They REALLY do not want to see us free and happy, because it cuts against their privilege.

I think with GUI and affordable but not free education and health care, a whole lot of supposed ideological or mental-health rooted issues would go away. And it could be sold to boss class because they could drop minimum wage, and all those people with some money would be a new market.

I think people are Scared, and that makes them scary.
I think the root of it is the theft of wealth from working people since the 1970s. It has created poverty as a norm, a constant possibility that even the mcmansion people are 2 paychecks away from.

I don't think it will be up to me. I am kinda on the side of seeing it as families, which is weird to Americans.
I think the habit of top-down thinking has us imagining a future that is planned and then executed, when I think there will be more power centers, smaller, weirder, more specialized.

Our actual options are pretty limited. We should look at the history of other US-backed Right Wing take-overs to know what to expect. So far everything shocking about Don has been things Dems would support doing to any other country, like say Ukraine. Only shocking because it's happening to us.

I made it when I made my commitment to the Land.
I will not mess in the world of thieves and liars, but I will not be moved either.
And I deal with Poachers every year with that MAGA Meth Head Mentality. So I know these people. I grew up around here. Went to elementary school here.

As they have it defined now, if you are nearby and police do an act of terror, you are legally the terrorist for causing them to freak out and murder somebody.
So if you want to keep it legal, stay home. If you break laws, expect to get hit. If you fight back people on Bluesky will disapprove.

Suppose the choice is we either fight or accept Right Wing Christian Nationalist Dictatorship as the new normal?
Shouldn't we at least make big talk, even if we plan to chicken out the moment they send the heavies around?
Or do you think it will help to submit harder, sooner?

All I know is that the families that are trying to destroy the US now are many of the same families that wanted to destroy it in 1865, and many like the Bushes were actually pro-Hitler too, all along.
I say we have to consider not making nice with families with vendettas against us.

So much tear gas & flash grenades tonight at ICE in Portland. US Gestapo came out, pushed people back & held a line as other feds shot down tear gas canisters from the roof. People were dancing before this as an impromptu rave broke out

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven. Now is the time to fight. It won't be forever, but failing to show up for it is as bad as missing a planting. Worse catastrophes will follow. Good news is they can only kill each of us once, and we can make it cost them.
