I'm rather confused what Cineverse's whole deal as a company is. Acquiring a bunch of movies (some good!), fucking up their Oscar submission paperwork (not good!), paying off medical debts (great!), doing AI shit (probably sucks!), Guillermo Del Toro praises them despite his anti-AI stance (huh)...

the invasion of Afghanistan is among the most horrific recent chapters of the long history of elite impunity in the US. this coda is grim but fitting - the govt practically explicitly affirming that it should only be Afghans who live with the consequences amid fading public memory of the atrocity

1. It would appear that in recent reporting, the BBC is now using the phrase "biological male who identifies as a woman" when they mean to talk about a transgender woman.

This is an incredibly demeaning way to talk about transgender women in news pieces.

BBC Now Calling Trans Women 'Biological Males Who Identify As Women'
These stories come in the aftermath of allegations that a small but mighty cabal of “LGBT reporters” had somehow seized control of the BBC and “censored” right-wing views.

Never mind we all heard Trump *on tape* telling GA officials to “find 11,780 votes” to overturn Georgia results.
