I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

A team of lawyers went to a court arguing IN FAVOR of “unjustified warrantless arrests”, a “tool” (!!!) our government feels it should have.
The 66-page ruling Tuesday by Senior U.S. District Judge R. Brooke Jackson of Colorado is a comprehensive rejection of a tactic regularly used by ICE to meet quotas set by the Trump administration. (via @cprnews.bsky.social)

New York City helped my mother become the artist she is today. The next generation deserves a City Hall that lifts up tomorrow's artists as well.

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.
