seems that RFK is clearing the path for his CDC to do tuskegee syphillis experiments as a matter of course. in other news, RFK is a genuine monster who relishes in the pain and suffering of those he feels he has control or dominion over
RFK is undoing human subjects protections so he can conduct placebo trials of vaccines. That means infecting people knowingly. I wonder who will “volunteer” for these trials? If history is any guide, a lot of incarcerated and other powerless people.
Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.

To everyone claiming there were no arrests at the "No Kings" rallies yesterday, this is simply not true.

No, a Trump supporter was arrested for trying to use a gun against people exercising their First Amendment rights. He was arrested and his tacky Jeep with Trump flags was towed.

Well done, Donald Trump! Naively trusting fellow war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu has resulted in a "Peace in the Middle East" that lasted less than one Scaramucci.

But your record for always being incompetent remains unblemished. At least you don't have a Nobel Peace Prize you'd need to give back.

Look, the Times was obviously unable to confirm at time of publication what the brown liquid that looked like diarrhea and that appeared to have been dumped from an AI-generated jet fighter by the president of United was intended to represent in his mind.
NYT sanewashing extends, apparently, to sparing NYT readers from a description of Trump's literal shit.

as far as just messaging goes that video is probably the most embarrassing thing any president has done on the world stage in my life

and the fact that the sunday shows wont even describe it? total abdication of their responsibility

I scrolled through the @1stforall.bsky.social's gallery of print front pages for local coverage of "No Kings" protests. Here are some of the standout papers, starting with the Daily Sentinel of Grand Junction, Colorado:

This is a complete abdication of journalistic responsibility. A president posting something this insane and disgusting should be front and center in the news.
Not a single mention of this across the Sunday shows as far as I could tell

My 14-year-old self would never have guessed that, in 50 years' time, all the world's music would be available at the click of a button, you'd navigate the globe by carrying a tiny computer around in your pocket, and the US President would post a video of himself shitting over American citizens.

The most important article you will read today. This is simply not the America we love. I say this as a former national security professional who is very much pro law enforcement. The tactics used here are anathema to actual policing, against all TTPs. www.propublica.org/article/trum...

Trump's federal agents shot Marimar Martinez, a US citizen, multiple times for allegedly menacing them with her car in Chicago. Only hours later, Kristi Noem and DHS started spreading disinformation about the shooting.

Now the official line is crumbling. 1/

As the official Trump administration line about the shooting of a Chicago woman crumbles, Senator Chris Murphy is asking pointed questions about what really happened here. Will we ever get answers?

It is notable that the Times article did not mention this, which, in itself, should be a huge, ongoing scandal, particularly in light of all of the concern about condescension to ordinary Americans that the Democrats supposedly display.

This is quite a hed/subhed.
1) Start with Vance. Use strong action verb. Accept the autocratic premise that the “Marines’ Might” are Vance’s to flex.
2) Mention the protest second and absurdly describe them as in the thousands
3) Treat Trump’s strong man use of the military as a partisan scuffle.

Can’t help but note how little coverage is given to the altered nature of White House press events—with pro-Trump propagandists getting access and bulk of questions. Where’s the outrage? The pushback from the press? Why are these events aired? Ukraine press “op” is a perfect example.

Top story when you go to The Guardian this AM. Which it is not when you go to the Washington Post or the NY Times. Apt language here, whereas WaPo describes the day as an airing of grievances as though we are a bunch of whining George Costanzas, not a vast public fearful of losing everything.

Thank you to @us.theguardian.com and the international and independent press and remaining American legacy media outlets that are reporting and opining on the reality that we face as Trump and MAGA seek to consolidate their authoritarian control on the US and wreak havoc everywhere.

Donald Trump keeps posting images of him as a king and the legacy media ignores it as if it is normal. It is not. It is dangerous.

Note in the annals of the NYT, WaPo and WSJ, this Trump posting simply doesn't exist. Typical. bsky.app/profile/nich...
Instead of seeing the Trump dropping poop AI video by old standards—"how dare he, if any Dem..."—see it in fight-against-authoritarianism terms:
They want everyone non-MAGA too scared to object, they fantasize about shooting protestors, and all they've got is a juvenile AI video to fake the feeling.

It’s actually really serious that every mainstream Republican believes that any American who peacefully protests against Trump “hates America”.

Like it’s not just a weird thing they say. It shows how they’ve given up on democracy. And it should freak you out.
