If Dems talked like this regularly, we wouldn't have to focus on "how to win close elections in difficult environments." We would have a lot fewer close elections, and a lot fewer difficult environments.

The most “vote blue no matter who” people in my life, the most Defend Democrats-minded people I know as recently as the end of 2024 are now exclusively out for blood and demanding Schumer’s resignation and for Dems in Congress to do total obstruction. Its crazy how far from the base the party is

yep. i can identify any number of structural issues but at the end of the day the basic problem is the republican party. this has been apparent for at least 20 years. it is also an incredibly unpopular observation to make among “serious” people.
