My years of living with psychosis reshaped my view of the world, so in a way I'm grateful for the experience.

Psychosis taught me that we are all brainwashed in certain ways. Left and right like to call each other brainwashed but it's true of everyone.

If you think money is real and meaningful, or that meaningful change would ever come by tweaking the tax code, you've been brainwashed.
The last year should have taught very well that liberals, progressives, and the left are not immune to misinformation.

And if you think you’re immune, you are by definition more susceptible.

the colbert discourse is stupid and cringe but it is resolutely true that anyone who lives by the image dies by the image and we are squarely in a society that has chosen the image as their primary mode of governance. sending in the clowns is a rational response against the circus.

Way too much online posting is cries for attention. That's not always pathetic, we all want and need some attention. Sometimes it is though.

@scottwiener.bsky.social you're now being accused of hate crimes against home owners. I'd laugh but this is worrying.
Libby from the affluent Bay Area suburb of Lafayette is going on an unhinged tirade against Senator Wiener.

She says that SB79 is "a hate crime against single-family homeowners," that this is "a direct attack" on all of us, and that Wiener "needs to be stopped."

I think the phenomena of “parents would rather spend another hour scrolling ig/tiktok/hulu than socialize their child or reinforce their education by helping with homework/overseeing their self application in an enriching extracurricular” is staggeringly high and something nobody wants to confess to
and parents have to work more or are addicted to something (like phones, gambling, etc)

Years ago, I met this guy on a dating site. He, an industrial engineer, tried to
mansplain stem cells to me, who has a PhD in a biology field. My profile stated I that I have a PhD.

He didn’t know the difference between the types of stem cells.

I unmatched him while he rambled on the phone lol

the people who police use of the term "concentration camp" have no idea that the nazis had over 14,000 camps across europe and that the vast majority were detention camps and labor camps and not killing centers, which is what they ignorantly think concentration camp exclusively means: death camp.

I know it maybe sounds unkind, but we are very much at a point where people need to move past the acute grief stage for the future we thought we might have and into the stage of planning for the future we actually will have

2) Platforms supercharge identity formation processes

Online “discursive spaces” mold our ideas and identities through our participation (h/t @pettertornberg.com)

We make sense of the world through shared stories, and platforms funnel us into niche tribes where belonging often outweighs truth

Missouri AG: Any AI That Doesn’t Praise Donald Trump Might Be “Consumer Fraud” (No, Really)
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey just sent threatening letters to Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Meta, claiming their AI chatbots violated Missouri's consumer protection laws. The crime? When asked to rank presidents on antisemitism, some of the AIs had the temerity to suggest Donald Trump might not be great on that front. Yes, you read that right. A sitting state attorney general is using the power of his office to threaten tech companies because their AIs expressed opinions about Trump that he disagrees with.
