Changed my profile pic to reflect the change of the season (albeit a bit late) from Nebraska Passport to curling.
Why am I less sleepy than when I have caffeine?

I was meant to be asleep 2 hours ago, since I have to be to work in 6.

More than anything else classism is that if you lose your company half a million you get fired, but if Zuck loses Meta 77 billion he gets paid $28 million.

Meritocracy doesn't fail due to DEI, if fails becaues we can't ever let a rich nimrod suffer consequences for any level of screwup.
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

I've got such anecdotal experience with this, due to my aunts and uncles.

Like, I would really love to sit down and hash it all out someday. The manual labor vs intellectual labor experiences are vastly different.
There are trade offs. you pay for the money you get in the integrity of your body and health, and you will probably not live as long as your white collar colleagues. But for pure job and monetary security, it's hard to beat the trades.

You know that feeling when you're almost asleep, and then you realize one thing isn't quite right? Toes too cold, arm starting to fall asleep, need to pee, etc.

That's how I've felt my whole adult life.

What is your favorite "Christian" Christmas song and what is your favorite "Secular" Christmas song?

Twisted Sister's Come All Ye Faithful. Both Christian and secular.

Glad I took Monday off, although I do need to be back by dinner.

Current plan is to leave Sunday afternoon and possibly snag a hotel outside Des Moines.

May leave Sunday morning and take 90 to 29 instead.
We'll see what happens tomorrow.
This map shows the National Weather Service’s forecast snow totals. In Iowa, there’s a chance that even higher totals area realized.

Confidence is increasing for 8+ inches in Chicago and Madison, the bulk of which falls on Saturday.

For Indianapolis and Columbus, amounts walk a tightrope.

Will have to watch this later.

My exposure to her came through her co-hosting That Curling Show. She was so vibrant!

Also, I have a clip somewhere of Dunstone making an impressive shot in 2019ish and I'm pretty sure it's Colleen who said "I think this kid's fer real!"
Last night on The National we honoured Colleen Jones.

I’m so grateful for everyone who played a role in putting it together and lending their voice to celebrating Colleen’s life and legacy. She was iconic, memorable and so loved.

I loved That Curling Show, and read the whole article in their voices. 💞

Feels fitting that I missed reading it in real time because I was working at a hospitality house for cancer patients.
Colleen Jones asked me to interview her a couple of months ago during a chemotherapy appointment.

She told me to write one heck of a story. I hope I did her proud.

About always believing something wonderful is about to happen.

Definitely here to brag, one of my friends texted me that they're using the baby blanket I gave them in their Christmas card photos.

There is little that makes me feel as good as seeing one of the blankets I've made being used. 🧶

Someone at my 2nd job asked me last night if I like working my 1st job, and the answer was "No."

Then I overslept and came to work to find an email *finally* giving us an update about open enrollment.

I'm about to leave a glassdoor review.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.
