Changed my profile pic to reflect the change of the season (albeit a bit late) from Nebraska Passport to curling.
As an LDS curler, I have no qualms about getting up and moving to any major metro area because I will have at least one, if not two, social support systems.

The downfall is they're tightly knit groups, so entering Witsec would be a challenge.
This is a wonderful column about the vital function of the curling club as a social connection

You’re not gonna see this facet at the Olympics, you just need to see it for yourself
Beyond the medals: Curling as social infrastructure
As attention focuses on the Games in Italy, we ought to look beyond the podium to social connections made at our local arenas.

Trying to decide if I should have a meal or a nap for lunch.

(Been up for 13 hours on 4.5 hours of sleep, after working 16 hours on 3.5 hours.)

Shout out to Jesus and Dr. Pepper for getting me through yesterday, today, and lets face it, tomorrow, too.

Can't wait to switch to overnights on Sunday!

I fully admit that one of my favorite shots is "aim here and hit something."
i imagine it is very tempting for curlers to just whip that rock down there as hard as they can and clonk everything around a bit

The dirty secret of bowling is that no one involved in the sport will admit that the holes in the balls don't do anything.
The dirty secret of downhill skiing that no one involved in the sport will admit is that the poles don't do anything
The dirty secret of soccer is that no one involved in the sport will admit that kicking the ball doesn't do anything. 🙄

I sprinkled some deodorizer on my carpet before running the vacuum and felt like I was pebbling ice.

Ughhhhhh.....I need a swift kick in the butt to say the hard thing.

My roommate is still trying to come up with ways to accommodate me so I can sleep. I told her the overnights are why I was looking at moving.

Which is true enough to be true, but its not the full truth.

Preach!
There is a poison, frequently delivered by adults, that makes children grow up this way.
"Is that your -=girlfriend=-!?"
Immediately, there's suspicion and embarrassment around having an opposite sex friend from a very young age.
That crap sets in to baby brains in the worst way.

Remember that crud I had just before Christmas?

I think its come back.
Had the same post nasal drip this morning, and it's turned into nasal drip tonight.

Still getting keys for my new place on Friday, but if this isn't gone in the morning, I'll be emailing the sub list.

This is the first one that came to mind, mostly because I thought the line that follows the title was a parenthetical addition to the title.

But just tonight, I rediscovered How Did We Get From Saying 'I Love You' by Great Big Sea.

Big day for me.

Got approved for an apartment, put in my 2 weeks, got amazing cuddles from the niece, put the nephew to bed with zero issues.

Came home and couldn't get in.

The garage door opener wasn't taking the code, so I called my roommate, who owns the home.

The article mentioned dudes are PO'd that they were taxed on a bonus and that they didn't have health insurance benefits after 2 months of employment.

These are SOP for the majority of employers in the private sector, too.

Sucks to suck about the late paychecks, though.
