Thought experiment: You just got out of a baseball game and everyone has an AV waiting for them.

How is that going?
Seems more likely to screw up the car ownership model than transit.

AVs will still suck at the things transit is good at: Lots of people/small space.

AV boosters don’t tend to think about problems like load space and dwell time.

It will be kind of funny to watch them learn in real time.

Nine years ago, I joined some friends from @seattlesubway.org to engage in some tactical urbanism by using sidewalk chalk to indicate the future downtown Redmond link station and to encourage a “yes” vote on ST3. Happy to finally see this station up and running!

It would be really nice if Democrats picked a side and fought for good things.
The line coming from Dem leaders in the state Senate is that the e-bike sales tax and additional fees on public transit are part of a bipartisan compromise on transportation. Well, the Senate just approved the revenue bill and it only garnered four Republican votes.

This is one of those cases where we hope to be proven completely wrong in time.

We wish CEO Constantine nothing but success in delivering on Sound Transit’s promise: High quality transit, built and operated for riders first.

Whoa…. We agree with the Seattle Times Editorial Board about something related to Sound Transit.

Historic moment, this.

Take the secrecy out of hiring of Sound Transit CEO | Editorial
At a time when transparency in government is being eroded on the federal level, it would seem that local public officials would want to do just the opposite.

I’m sure we can all guess where this is going.

The price tag of endless ST3 process is about to go way up.
Sound Transit CEO Goran Sparrman just confirmed that the 30-60 day delay to West Seattle Link's record of decision is due to a White House review of the project, to confirm that it's in alignment with Trump's executive orders.
Just got a tip that the Record of Decision for West Seattle Link has been pushed back again by two months, but I see the West Seattle Blog is all over it.
