This is not just "this looks bad for Trump"

That's your guy.... you knew he was affiliated with Epstein BEFORE you cast the ballot

Chadwick Boseman and James van der Beek both died in their 40s of an illness that's treatable if a colonoscopy catches it but almost no insurer covers them for people under 45, this is what Engels meant by "social murder"

ICE is currently holding around 80,000 detainees. Nazi Germany didn't reach this number in its formal camp system until 1942, nine years after seizing power and three years into the war.

1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

So happy about this news. But all the kidnapped folks need to be returned to their homes as well.
Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

Has this been a soul-searching moment for the fact-checking industry? Everything Harris says came, or is coming, true. And so much of it was labeled as "misleading" or "lacking context" at the time, on the grounds of "but he said he wouldn't!" (see, e.g. www.npr.org/2024/08/25/g... from @npr.org)

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

I can still recall all the tut-tutting from the media when Harris made this argument.
Kamala Harris at her closing campaign rally:

"Donald Trump intends to use the United States Military against American citizens who simply disagree with him."

thinking a lot lately about our surprise when the victim of state violence is white, a citizen, a priest, a veteran, some category viewed as exempt from that violence. it’s time to understand you aren’t. no one is. whiteness isn’t the color of your skin it is a conditional privilege you can lose.
