It at first seemed unlikely that the shooting at Brown and the murder of a star MIT professor were related. But now police are investigating a possible connection, reporting that a rental car of the same make and model may be linked to both crimes.

These are terrible days for academics.

Wildly unethical and grotesque to damn African children to lifelong chronic liver disease so some pseudo-'evidence based' medicine advocates can push fairy tales about a lack of placebo controlled trials.

Another sad chapter to come in Medical Apartheid.
On the same day he stripped AAP of millions in grant funding in retaliation, RFK Jr awarded $1.6M to Tracy Høeg's Danish friends for a grossly unethical study that will expose African babies to hep B for no reason than it's politically expedient.

Steal from American taxpayers, give to MAHA cronies.
CDC awards $1.6 million for new hepatitis B vaccine study in Guinea-Bissau. Although the award recipients aren't named, the grant seems tailored to Danish researchers whose work is championed by anti-vaxxers but challenged by mainstream scientists.

Secondly, there was absolutely no justification for bringing in hundreds of thousands of students to enroll in strip-mall colleges, which were often given the veneer of respectability by having real colleges lend their name for a price.

Cruel. Cruel. Cruel. Cruel. Cruel.

A fearmongering wedge issue disconnected from reality, dignity, and science. Cruel sh*t.

Gender affirming care for trans people is safe, effective, and has a lower regret rate (4%) than almost any major medical procedure. It saves lives. These are facts. The right's talking-points are recycled "they are coming for your children!" scare tactics well over fifty years old at this point.
New research finds trans teens have high satisfaction with gender care
The survey published in JAMA Pediatrics showed that trans teens taking puberty blockers or hormones had very low rates of regret.

The fact that the people who made the mistakes are the ones platformed, shielded from questions they can't answer about mistakes they can't justify, tells you everything.

Alberta is allowing Corb Lund and the indépendatistes to reapply under the old fee if it’s done within the 30-day transition to the new law, a spokesperson confirmed.

But this will make it pricier for anyone to force a referendum question on, say, renaming the justice minister Doris Daymery.
No big deal, but the Alberta government just increased the fee to submit a citizen initiated petition from $500 to $25, 000. After the separatism initiative was approved, but before Corb Lund's coal mining petition gets re-approved. No political shenanigans going on here.

It is a marketing term designed to confuse patients, promote pseudoscience, and sow distrust in mainstream medicine.
