White folks. Watch this. Twice if you have to.

And don’t just listen to her. Understand what it is she is saying.

This is a video I think every American could benefit from hearing. A perspective on US politics from a German citizen, who previously lived here before fleeing due to concerns over our slide into fascism. Our political system is captured. We stand at a cross roads, under a new age of technology.

I wish people were as horrified about immigrants being kidnapped and killed in detention centers as they are about this shooting at the same time I am very glad there is finally some larger momentum building against this and I hope it sustains.

Candid answer - as someone who handled constituent affairs calls for years - while they’re not checking the phone right now, the urgency of the moment is important.

Show them you care enough to make the weekend call, and be counted that way. Staffers will clock and report this upstream.
Is there actually a benefit to leaving a VM now vs getting a staffer on Monday? Can do both but just curious

Woah, this is news to me!

Hey, peeps! My very first book is currently on sale for just 2 bucks! Both the eBook AND the hardcover, apparently? It's about a tea specialist-turned-assassin who embarks on an epic quest to rescue her kidnapped sibling... in SPACE.

Also HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is so true. Dive in head first, make it the most itself, the most freely *you*, that you can.

I think a lot of the boom we see on here with indie trans books is because so many of us are going all-out with whatever our particular idea is, and that's exciting to the people who want to read it!
Here’s why you shouldn’t pull your punches as a writer:

A big part of the appeal of a book is how dedicated the author is to their idea.

That crackling energy only comes from compulsion, the true driver of creativity.

Restrain it at your own peril.

There’s not a single filmmaker who is so magically good it should excuse them being a bully. Not one. Give their money to someone else. We have plenty of talent and too many assholes hogging the resources.

THIS. Frustration tolerance is the key to getting good at anything at all, not just art. Socials media makes it so easy to compare yourself to others, but you just have to ignore that and have fun with your little drawings. Do it enough and you'll eventually get better through trial and error.
Being unable to tolerate frustration + chasing social media clout gotta be a big reason why ppl jumped on the gen ai machine to churn out slop

I’m now to the point in directing this play that I can plan what comes next with more solid details! Once Coriolanus opens (November 8th!!!) there will be more Earth Crew episodes (6 more in this season), more audio stories, more book reviews, and more interviews coming to SoSF!
