I hate to be *that* person, who rarely posts, and then to share what they wrote on a different platform, but here I go regardless.

My beautiful friend Tejas AP died last week. And it made me reconsider my dislike of Instagram, of all things.

I wrote a book about US media’s complicity in the Gaza genocide. It's available for pre-order. It’s a data-driven and, I hope, thorough account of how center-left media sold the American public on mass death in Gaza.

Media literacy is down, so to be clear, when the WSJ writes “Ultimately, the fact pattern Meta relies on to meet its conflicting objectives strains credibility” about your accounting practices and runs an accompanying flowchart, that is the equivalent of a 500-foot neon sign reading “FRAUD”
This feels like one of those stories you're going to look at a year from now and say to yourself, "Why didn't I move more of my portfolio into cash?" **

I last read the Wicked book 20 years ago. In the original, Madame Morrible was imploring Galinda to take up sorcery! And Galinda was not quite the asskisser we know and love.

So many visitors to India are all like " I don't want to do touristy things I want to experience life as a local" and then claim they're bored when they have to just stay indoors all day to avoid the sun and catch up with ppl at the park in the evening to insult the prime minister
People who feel bad at being called tourists are without doubt the most tedious people on earth to get stuck next to on a plane and it isn't close to close
Tourists are an interesting group in that they consistently deny what we all know they are. I can’t think of anything that screams tourist more than reducing each experience down to charm bracelet size and wearing it around. If tourism is your thing, just embrace it!
