Our first #BlueSky post should be something worth posting, and this is a photo of our home.
No matter where on the planet you come from, we only have one home.

So many of us live near the M50 but as it's costly, driving through town and nearby villages can be more tempting.

We're advocating making the M50 free to use

It'll make it easier on people's pockets + it'll free up the city centre and nearby villages from dense traffic.
It costs money to drive on the motorway, but it's free to drive through the city centre or residential suburbs. A lot of people choose the free option, and that makes our lives more dangerous, louder, more polluted. Let's make the M50 free.

Twenty-one years ago today the @europeangreens.eu were founded in Rome. We’ve had our ups and downs, but we’re still going strong.

From @greenpartyie.bsky.social, thank you Trevor Sargent, Mary White, Chris O’Leary, Heidi Bedell, Nuala Ahern, Steve Rawson, and all who took part in our journey.
Data centres are often blamed for Ireland’s energy use, but they’re not the biggest users—transport takes that spot. And the highest carbon emissions? Agriculture.
Let’s focus on real solutions across all sectors, not just easy targets. 💚

Bad driving isn’t just careless—it’s anti-social behaviour. Speeding, close passes, and reckless driving put lives at risk, yet we’re expected to accept it as normal. We shouldn’t.
Roads are for everyone, and dangerous driving deserves real anger and action. 💚

Just to say I've spoken to DCC area manager re: the destruction of Mountpleasant Square wall in Ranelagh by a driver last night and they'll be working with parks to look at reconstruction and making the area safe. The wall will take a bit longer to reconstruct. Any questions let me know.

🚨The US Vice President just LIED about human rights in Scotland!

Misinformation fuels the far-right; we won't stand by and let him get away with it.

➡️Thousands of more children across Scotland will receive free school meals thanks to the Scottish Greens.

🟢Together, we can change the system that has allowed the rich to get richer and thousands of children to fall into poverty.

The arrival of a new baby is the most joyous moment for families, but it also means plenty of new costs.

I’m pleased to have fought to get the €280 Baby Boost payment included in Budget 2025 - a key Green Party initiative benefitting families directly

🚨The DIRTIEST power station is about to get a bit LESS dirty! 😮‍💨

The UK government has announced LIMITS on Drax power station's ability to BURN TREES and POLLUTE our air.

They will ALSO start FINING Drax if the wood burnt doesn't come from WASTE products. 🔥
Observing speed limits isn’t just about rules—it’s #SocialBehaviour. It shows care for others on the road and makes our streets safer for all.
When we drive at safe speeds, we’re looking out for each other. 💚🚗

Is migration just a junior minister portfolio? It's challenging, will it get the attention it needs?
As Roderic suggests, it deserves a higher priority, human lives and rights are at stake. Let’s address this with the seriousness it demands. 💚

Disappointing to see our native tree cover still so low.
We know historical reasons, but there’s no excuse for inaction now.
Restoring our forests means cleaner air, richer biodiversity & a healthier future.
Time to plant, protect & restore. 🌳💚

The research also found native, natural forest is highly fragmented.

🚗🚲 Lower speed limits are coming into effect, making roads safer for everyone—drivers, cyclists & pedestrians alike.
Slower speeds mean fewer collisions & safer communities.
Let’s embrace this step towards better, calmer streets. 💚

We’re a bit worried at how changes to default speed limits are being communicated at the moment.

The Sunday Business Post is one source of misinformation.

Here’s a more well-informed piece @thejournalie

Speed limits are not "against" anyone, they are for everyone!
Much of the debate around Friday's rural local road #speedlimit change focuses on reducing deaths, it’s also about making roads safer for everyone. On my 80km/h road by a canal, walkers & cyclists are rare it’s too dangerous. Dropping to 60km/h would cut stopping distances and improve safety for all

🚨 New poll

According to a Herald poll we're on track to win a record 15 MSPs at the next election, nearly doubling our 2021 result!

As climate breakdown accelerates and the far right threatens our basic rights and standard of living, it's never been more important to Vote Scottish Green.
A powerful lesson—what do we do when injustice doesn’t directly impact us? Staying silent keeps the status quo.
Real change happens when we stand up, speak out, and take action, even when it’s not our fight—because justice should matter to all of us. 💚

Streets where kids cycle safely and independently is a real sign of a smart, people-friendly city.
Streets designed for everyone, not just cars, make life better for all of us.
More of this, please! 🚲💚

Last week, an advanced Dutch-inspired roundabout in France opened in Bures-Sur-Yvette. There are currently around 10 examples of these in France, providing users with clear and safe separation from traffic.

You’re right—enforcement is one key to making speed limits effective.
But alongside that, we need a shift in mindset. Slower speeds protect everyone, and if more drivers commit to them, we’ll see real change.
Safe streets start with all of us. 💚

Heartbreaking to see the devastation in California communities like Altadena and Palisades.
Climate-fuelled fires are leaving once-thriving communities looking like post-apocalyptic landscapes.
This is the reality of inaction—we must act now. 💚

LA after the fires: Like driving through a post-nuclear suburbia. The scale of destruction is unfathomable
The desire to rebuild the destroyed communities is strong. But residents know they cannot fully replace what has been lost
