Context for the usual display name. I have laughed at this every time I've seen it for the last year.
A post from "Chubblenauts and other examples of Arctic Excellence". It is a photo of baby Moo Deng yelling while a keeper is picking her up. The post text reads:

UNHAND ME at ONCE, I am GRUNTILLICUS, I saw the WORLD BORN in the FIRES of the GODFORGE, I cast the DUST which became YOUR BREATH, I would like a SMALL APPLE

Once upon a time, I was married to someone who thought I was not as beautiful as I really was. I am now with someone who thinks I’m much more beautiful than I really am. I highly recommend the latter.

This isn't breaking news, but I'd honestly forgotten they were leaning quite this heavily into the dark side until I saw this post, so I'm happy to be reminded of it.

Exec3: What if, while we targeted our advertising towards lanyard-class staffers with an occasionally overdeveloped sense of noblesse oblige, we argued that the NLRB was unconstitutional?

Exec1 and Exec2: Okay, now it's starting to get warm in here.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm working on remembering when it's time to go to bed without the cat wandering through the office at 10:30 PM to yell at me that it's just about that time.
starlightatsea.bsky.social
The vet just called to say that our cat's ashes are ready, and my husband had the call on speaker in the other room

Me: "Did she just end the call with 'Have a nice day otherwise'?"
Husband: "She did."
Me: "I guess that's reasonable. 'Your pet's remains are here, have a good day!' ain't great."

#MSH45 | Richard Lasher
You've been at a job long enough to know a decent colleague to chat with.

The more you get to know them, the more they share. What's fact or fiction? You don't know, but you listen.

Then there's one story that's so over the top—a bona fide lie. But then, a photo appears.
A red Ford Pinto hatchback angles across a narrow gravel forest service road, a blue enduro motorcycle on a rear hitch carrier. Tall firs frame the view. Beyond them, a towering ash cloud from a pyroclastic density flow billows skyward. Photo by Richard Kent Lasher, May 18, 1980.

"The average listener is not under the impression that a diss track is the product of a thoughtful or disinterested investigation, conveying to the public factchecked verifiable content."
The forum here is a music recording, in particular a rap “diss track,” with accompanying video and album art. Diss tracks are much more akin to forums like YouTube and X, which “encourag[e] a freewheeling, anything-goes writing style,” than journalistic reporting. TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Guns N' Roses, while playing a show last night in Bogotá, Colombia, borrowed this flag sign out of the crowd. Axl held it up for everyone then later ran around stage wearing it around his neck while singing. Said the whole band would sign it then make sure the fan got it back.
